Monroe PD Report: Police memorial wreath vandalized, armed robbery, burglaries

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between May 12 – 25, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into seven parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Medical call, West Spring St., Advanced Auto Parts. Complainant on the phone with Dekalb DA’s office. Complainant has PTSD and is refusing to take her meds. Complainant called daughter who advised she is tired of her mother’s delusions and blocked her.
  • Dispute, MLK Jr. Blvd., Longhorns. Complainant arguing with employee over payment for a paint job. Advised of civil process, parties separated, all 10-4.
  • Suspicious vehicle in the area of Belle Meade. Silver SUV in the area and driver acting intoxicated. Vehicle and diver match above complainant from medical call. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Found property, Radford St. Vacant property for over a month and landlord found ammo left inside with other trash. Landlord advised he could do whatever he wanted with it.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Marable St. and North Broad. Officer attempted to stop white civic with no tag, driver fled on foot. Shantrell Porter arrested for driving w/o license, no tag, and disorderly conduct.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Glen Iris Dr. Call handled by Walton County Sheriff’s Office due to all units tied up on foot chase.
  • Dispute, Milledge Ave., complainant advised named male subject had been barred and arrested previously from the property. Unable to verify trespass warning through new system, dispatch, or old books in squad room. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious person, Pine Park Apts. Jessica Schwebel and Angela Barrett stopped on Pine Park. Consent to search person revealed meth and pills and related objects. Schwebel arrested for meth and related objects, Barrett arrested for meth and schedule 4 x2.
  • Dispute, Bridgeport Pl., complainant advised named female subject driving in the area, gone when officers arrived. Advised of Temporary Protection Order process.
  • Request to come to Forrest St., complainant is 94 years old and owns home on Mill St. and Doc will not let her live alone.
  • Trespassing, East Marable St., mother advised her son Kenneth Jason Tullis on location on Union St. had been barred from housing in 2014.  Mr. Tullis arrested for criminal trespass and released
  • Request to come to Ridge Rd. Dispute between daughter and her mother over the daughter’s boyfriend. Situation mediated, all ok.
  • 38D (drugs) East Spring St., Monroe Motor Inn. Ref to white females in room with meth, only description advised was a red Miata. Vehicle GOA, all ok.
  • Follow-up, Union St. in regards to Kenneth Tullis back on location making threats. Report taken and Tullis was GOA, contact made on E. Marable St. w/ Tullis and arrested for threats.
  • Officers called to Walmart D/C in regards to trailer on location was reported stolen earlier by Walmart D/C in Atlanta. All ok, driver did not check out trailer properly, will be removed from GCIC
  • Burglary, Mill Creek Way, complainant stated she arrived home and back door kicked in. Xbox 1 and MCM bag missing. Report taken
  • Warant pick-up at Morgan Co. Jail, Timothy Chester ready for pick-up on city warrant.
  • Domestic problem, Hwy 138 (Valero) in regards to father being followed by ex-wife due to their 11-year-old son’s behavior. Ex-wife gone when officers arrived, father advised of civil remedies.
  • Panhandling, Walmart in regards to Hispanic male and female asking for money. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Theft, Jay’s Towing. Company “UFL” was getting water out of fire hydrant on Jay’s Towing meter. Company had receipt from City Hall where they paid to access water. Report taken and follow up to be done w/ City Hall.
  • Suspicious person, Glen Iris Dr. in regards to W/F x2 walking through people’s backyards. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious person, Norris St. in regards to W/M and W/F seen going into house and it’s supposedly vacant. Female subject on location, all ok.
  • Domestic problem, Davis St. between male and female subjects. Female made allegations that male struck her but witnesses advised it was verbal only. Report taken, parties separated
  • Shoplifting, Walmart. Marian Garmon and Todd Little arrested for shoplifting, cited and fingerprinted then released.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Wheelhouse Ln. in regards to white truck driving around and stopping suspiciously. Contact made w/ white Dodge Ram 1500 and occupied by male and female subjects. Female subject originally came back clear and truck was sent on its way then advised by dispatch that female had active warrants out of Oconee Co., truck was stopped and was advised female got out near entrance to Walton Mill and ran on foot. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Vandalism of memorial, S. Broad St. MPD. Officers noticed at sun up that the wreath for Police Week had been destroyed.
  • Found property, East Church St. Ref to a gas can in the parking lot, comp thought it was suspicious. All ok, it was just a gas can.
  • Fraud report taken at South Broad St., MPD. Complainant advised the tag office would not give her a title to a mobile home she bought because she does not have a Georgia driver’s license. Referred back to the tag office.
  • Subject ready for pick up Alcovy St. Escorted Ashley Gilliam to WCSO for probation warrant.
  • Domestic problem, East Marable St., The Hot Spot. Complainant wanted to retrieve vehicle from Hill St. Homeowner not on location, complainant had the title but no key, advised to return when homeowner was there.
  • Subject ready for pick up Alcovy St. Escorted Chyna Brown-Hampton to WCSO for probation warrant.
  • Theft report, Radford Park. Housing authority reports 12 bushes dug up and stolen by former tenant.
  • Theft report taken at South Broad St., MPD. Complainant advised 56 oxycodone stolen from Mathews Park yesterday.
  • Subject Ready for pick up, Alcovy St. Neashley Dukes given escort to WCSO on warrants.
  • Threats, Wheel House Ln. Comp advised that a named subject from Tanglewood drove by in a red Acura and advised he had a gun. No further information provided, requested extra patrol.
  • Suspicious person, South Broad St., CVS Pharmacy. Female subject panhandling in the parking lot. Sent on her way.
  • Suspicious person, Mill St. comp advised that people smoking 38D in the vacant residence.
  • Dispute, Radford St. dad called and advised people across the street harassing his daughter. Actual call was on Norris St. and was a theft report.
  • Domestic problem, Storehouse Crt., father stated his son and girlfriend broke up and she came to residence and threw bleach on his son. Son or girlfriend neither on location, advised to call back if they want to press charges.
  • Harassment, Landers St., complainant had questions regarding harassment claims over Facebook Marketplace ad. No harassment present, all ok.
  • Burglary, Nowell St. that occurred sometime within last week. Toys and gaming systems stolen, report taken.
  • BOLO given out by WCSO in regards to (W/M) who stole vehicle while it was occupied by elder W/M and then was seen at Waffle House on N. Broad St. and ran off on foot towards MAHS. WCSO and MPD searched area w/ negative contact.
  • Armed robbery, E. Spring St. (AutoZone) in regards to short B/M wearing all black hoodie and pants with sunglasses entered store and pulled out black hand gun and took money from register drawer and then got into small sedan and left towards Hwy 78 East. CID notified to work scene. Report taken.
  • Damage to property, Claywill Circle. Complainant reported that someone slashed his tire and upon further inspection it appeared the tire was dry rotted. No criminal evidence was present but report was requested.
  • Burglary in progress, Wellington Ln. Caller advised hearing loud boom downstairs and locked herself in bedroom. All units arrived on scene and cleared residence, all ok. Possible laundry equipment made noise due to running.
  • Domestic problem, E. Washington St., complainant stated boyfriend refused to leave residence after dispute about items on her cell phone. Boyfriend gathered belongings and returned to his residence in Lawrenceville.
  • Suspicious person, W. Spring St. (Waffle House) in regards to female subject on location stating she was being followed and hid in bathroom. Arrived on scene and got subject out of bathroom. Subject stated she called the resident about her cat and wanted to retrieve property. Subject advised to call police during business hours to retrieve property. Subject possibly medical issues incident documented.
  • Shoplifting, Walmart. Two subjects on location loitering and prowling, living in their vehicle in parking lot. Manager wanted them off property, couple sent on their way. No evidence of shoplifting.
