Monroe PD Report: Traffic stop nets ecstasy and meth; results in arrest

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 2 – 8, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Traffic Stop Highway 78 at Jim Daws Road – Omar Kenner stopped for traffic violation.  Mr. Kenner was found to be in possession of 28 ecstasy pills and 11 individually packaged baggies of methamphetamine. Mr. Kenner was arrested and turned over to the Walton County Jail.
  • Assault Sorrells Street in reference to a male subject assaulting a female. Male was gone when officers arrived. Warrants to be taken on male for family violence battery.
  • Suspicious Vehicle Baron Drive in reference to a motorcycle drag racing. Officer conducted an area check with negative contact.
  • 911 Hang up, West Spring Street at Haven Inn in reference to male subject in room 205 refusing to check out. All ok. Male left without incident.
  • Juvenile Complaint West Tall Oaks Drive. Mother advised her 14-year-old son had a juvenile warrant for probation violation and she was told to call 911 if he returned. Due to no available units son left residence before Officer arrival. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, Nike sliders. He was placed on GCIC as a missing/runaway juvenile.
  • Follow Up Wheel House Lane in reference to subject having further information for a previous case.
  • Suspicious Subject South Broad Street near Walker Drive in reference to a white male carrying a shotgun. Officer had negative contact.
  • Child Custody at 116 South Broad Street – Monroe Police Department. Father advised he has a court order as the primary custody parent to get his 16-year-old son from the mother. Contact was attempted at the child’s residence at Wall Street but no one was on location. Report requested for documentation.
  • 911 Hang Up at Sweetgum Drive in reference to a female advising she felt trapped. Upon arrival Hospice Aid was on scene checking on female and advised all was okay. Contact made with family member who advised no need for further assistance from police with Hospice on location. Hospice Aid advised she would contact her nurse to give an update on said female.
  • Illegal Parking Meadow Court in reference to a Chrysler 300 parked in front of the complainant’s residence. The Chrysler belonged to the complainant’s neighbor. Officer had negative contact with the neighbor.
  • Follow Up Classic Trail. Officers received information that the runaway juvenile from above call might be on location. Negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle Meadow Walk Drive at Rosewood Lane in reference to drugs possibly being sold from a white van. Officer had negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle Hwy 78 and Hwy 138 in reference to a Honda Civic driving reckless.  Negative contact with vehicle upon Officer’s arrival
  • Suspicious Vehicle Green Street in reference to a white passenger car in yard. Vehicle was a white Mitsubishi. While on scene, complainant got in touch with her son and discovered it belonged to her grandson. Everything okay.
  • Illegal Parking on West Marable Street in reference to vehicles blocking roadway. All vehicles were corrected with no issues.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, MLK JR Blvd (ATT) in reference to a male subject sleeping in his vehicle. Male said his medications were changed yesterday and he was not having a good reaction. Was given a ride to his home so he would not have to drive.
  • Theft at Bridgeport place in reference to complainant believing that her dog was at Jessica Way.  Attempted to make contact with the homeowner but could not.  Left a card in the door of the homeowner to contact the Police to speak with them about their dog.
  • Juvenile at New Lacy Street in reference to complainant seeing juveniles walking into the wood line, area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Prowler Report Vine Street in reference to unknown person knocking on the back door.  Unknown description of the person. Checked the area with negative contact.  
  • Suicide Attempt at Hubbard Street in reference to female taking a large amount of sleeping pills, made contact with homeowner who advised she had left the residence on foot. Female was located, she was transported to Clearview by EMS.
  • Suspicious Person in Hammond Park in reference to small group of males hanging out near Pavillion. Two ran off and third was ok. Left park.
  • Prowler at New Lacy Street in reference to complainant saying people are walking through the bushes. No contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Vine Street in reference to complainant and her Daughter stated they were walking home from John’s Supermarket, someone in a dark in color SUV threw something at them. Complainant stated a second vehicle went off the roadway almost striking them. Report declined, she advised she just wanted to make police aware and to have extra patrol in the area.
  • Discharge Firearms Maple Lane – Checked the area with no evidence of a firearm being discharged.  Caller did not want to meet with officers.
  • Dispute Roosevelt – Wife was concerned that her husband had marijuana in the residence and wanted it removed.  Marijuana was located and confiscated.
  • Jessica Way Follow Up Spoke with subject about missing dog from Bridgeport Place. She owned a different dog and no evidence of multiple dogs.
  • Civil Matter at CVS Pharmacy in reference to being flagged down by complainant, the incident occurred in the county. Complainant was advised of remedies.
  • Follow Up at Tall Oaks West in reference to missing juvenile. Officer checked residence to see if juvenile had returned home, but father advise they still haven’t heard from him. Advise to dial “911” if he return home.
