Monroe PD Reports: Bat in house, DUI wreck and bones broken in assault

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 26 – Feb. 2, 2018. Due to the length of this report, it has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Vehicle accident. Duranta Momon struck a pole at Lakeview Dr. Duranta was located walking back towards the incident location. Momon was charged on DUI-Combo, Failure to maintain lane, Striking a fixed object, Reckless Driving, and Marijuana less than 1oz
  • Suicide Threats, Martin Luther King Jr Blvd (Dunkin Donuts) Made contact with complainant who said a male posted on snap chat about holding a gun and appeared suicidal.  I reviewed the snap chat post and male was holding a gun but never any mention of suicide. Male lives in Walnut Grove so requested WCSO to do a welfare check.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., Silver Chevy Malibu on location for numerous days. Employees concerned it was stolen since it had been on location for over a week. All is ok with the vehicle. Advised they could tow if they wanted.
  • Welfare Check Great Oaks by the Creek: Subject leaning over the bridge appearing sick. Checked the area with negative contact.
  • Firearms Turner St., Reference hearing approx. 10 shots (one caller). Checked the area with negative contact.
  • 911 Hang Up Gatewood Way, Med call. Subjects varicose vein busted but bleeding control. Turned over to to EMS.
  • West Spring Street (Wal-Mart) in reference to a white female wearing a dark shirt and checkered pants stealing three items.  The subject got into a gray passenger vehicle.  Officer Studdard observed the vehicle and performed a traffic stop.  The female was identified as Tiffany Stoddard.  Ms. Stoddard had a warrant out of WCSO.  Ms. Stoddard was placed in custody and transported to the PD to be fingerprinted for the shoplifting charge.  She was then transported to Walton County Jail in reference to the warrant.
  • Domestic Dispute South Madison Ave., Complainant who stated that a subject had taken her truck without permission. When subject returned home an argument began. Subject was arrested for battery, report taken.
  • Fraud, West Spring St., Employees reporting two fake $20.00 bills passed earlier this date.
  • Meet with Officer at East Church St., Complainant wanted to let officers know that cars are driving reckless down Wall Street. Negative contact with any vehicles driving recklessly.
  • Warrant Service Tanglewood Dr., Anonymous caller advised a wanted subject was on location with a warrant out of Athens. Subject was taken into custody without incident.
  • Assault at Nowell St., Complainant was assaulted by four subjects, resulting in broken bones and missing teeth. Three of four suspects were identified, two arrests were made, and warrants taken on the third. 
  • Dispute at Lakeview Drive Ms. Britney Jackson was on scene very intoxicated. Ms. Jackson was transported to Clearview to detox. Ms. Jackson was placed under arrest at Clearview for a warrant out of the City of Monroe.
  • Meet with Officer Alcovy St., Complainant reported a loose bat in his home. After attempts failed to capture the elusive bat, complainant was advised to call a pest control company.
  • Domestic Dispute Nowell St., Complainant stated she and her husband Lorenzo Miller got into a verbal and physical altercation. Millien had visible scratches to her arm. Warrants to be taken for Battery (Family Violence).
  • Dispute at Turner Street in reference to complainant calling stating her boyfriend was breaking things. Upon officer’s arrival it was found that her boyfriend was actually breaking his own property. Report taken
  • Hit & Run, S Broad St. 2 vehicles, vehicle at fault fled the scene, no injuries reported.  Report taken
  • Suicide Threat, Laundry Mat, East Spring St. Male on location having suicidal thoughts. Male was given a courtesy ride to Clearview.
  • Damage to property at Plaza Trace (Country Grove Apartments).  Complainant advised that his wife’s vehicle was backed into a parking space.  It appears someone backed into the front of her vehicle causing damage to the right headlight area.  Report taken.
  • Entering Auto E Spring St. Frederick Hicks advised that at approximately 0500 hours he saw a red car parked near his vehicle with the trunk opened. When he was leaving the motel, he noticed two of his black tool boxes loaded with tools was missing. He advised it was around $1000.00 worth of tools. The tools were in the bed of his pickup.   • South Madison (WCSO) Female was at the jail attempting to turn herself in. Contact was made with the Officer who took the report and he advised no warrants to have been signed. Female was advised to return to Monroe Police Dept at 1800 hours, so she could speak to the Officer and turn herself in.
  • Suspicious Person, South Madison Ave. Reference a B/F standing in the road. Officer checked the area and did not have contact with subject
  • Meet Citizen, S Madison Ave. Wife wanted to advise that her husband wanted to press charges against her. She was informed that the Officer who handled the case is currently taking warrants against her husband and that they would be active this afternoon.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring Street (Wal-Mart) in reference to a subject (Demiqueon Wyatt) caught shoplifting by store employees.  Mr. Wyatt was placed under arrest and released on copy at Monroe Police Department.  Report taken
  • Agency Assist, S Madison Ave. Benchmark Behavioral case worker advised upon Officers arrival that she was ok and did not need Police.
  • 911 hang up, Pine Circle contact was made with homeowners and they advised all was ok
  • Suspicious Person at North Broad/Hwy 78.  Made contact with a male subject.  He requested to be transported to Clearview to be evaluated.  All ok.
  • Civil Issue, Walker Dr. Complainant had questions regarding his vehicle that he lent to a friend that is now incarcerated. He was advised of different ways to retrieve the vehicle
  • Responded to Clearview in reference to patient being irate.  Made contact with patient and stood by as the nursing staff tended to him.
  • Officer observed a white male walking in the roadway and appeared to be intoxicated.  Made contact and advised not to walk in the roadway anymore.
  • Hit and Run North Broad Street/Marable St., Called in 3rd party in reference to a black male in a grey hoodie being struck at North Broad Street and Marable the car and the male were gone. EMS located the male walking down Marable Street and he ran from them. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Wanted Person at 116 South Broad St., Alexis Daniels turned herself in on aggravated battery warrants. Aexis was arrested and transported to WCSO. Supplemental report completed.
  • Suspicious Vehicle Etten Ct., Two females and two males where siting inside the vehicle. Upon further investigation marijuana was located inside the car. 3 of the four people were released on scene on a citation and one was taken to jail for possession of marijuana. report taken.
  • Welfare Check at Maple St., Officers made contact with elderly lady who was okay. She advised that the caller was her son and he suffered from mental health issues.
