The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between May 26 – June 1, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note and arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Entering auto South Madison Ave. Complainant went out to his unlocked car this morning and saw someone went through it, nothing taken. Report to weed eater and lawn furniture taken from back yard.
- Violent dispute Turner St. Subject attempted to assault victim with a hammer. Warrant obtained on subject. Not served due to him still being in the ER.
- Theft report King St. Two bikes stolen from porch, one pink one red and black.
- Theft report taken at116 South Broad St., MPD. Victim advised leaf blower taken between May 15-24 2017. Entered onto GCIC.
- Dispute Ridge Road. Checked both A and B with negative contact. B advised he was not familiar with the call and further advised the neighbor from A had already gone to work. Complainant called from 911 only phone. Checked the rest of Ridge Road with negative contact.
- Damage to property New Lacy Street. Complainant cleaning property from deceased subject. Complainant advised she found car in locked fence with busted windows. Complainant said deceased subject was paranoid and had several weapons and was unsure if any were in the vehicle when it was broken into.
- Harassment Blaine Street – The Bridge of Georgia. Complainant advising she broke up with boyfriend a few months ago and he left a note at her apartment in the county. Referred to the Sheriff Office if she wanted a report and advised of the Temporary Protection Order process.
- Juvenile complaint Wheel House Lane. Mother picked up child from school for fighting. Once home, child was about to fight mother, mother wanted child out of house, advised of remedies. Juvenile complaint filed.
- Suspicious vehicle East Marable Street at Meadowalk subdivision. Gold passenger car at entrance neighborhood. Vehicle was parked at entrance with “for sale” signs in all windows.
- Welfare check in the area of Radford and 5Th Street. Anonymous caller requested check of female and child due to male wouldn’t allow them to leave and being verbally abusive. Also advised of possible drugs on location. Spoke to all on location and all was ok.
- Civil Issue report taken at 116 South Broad St., MPD. Subjects from Mill Stone Bluff had questions about their roommates leaving early and not paying bills, referred to Magistrate court.
- Custody issue South Madison Ave., Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Subject had questions about child custody, all ok.
- Fire assist 3rd St., Ref to structure fire. Fire believed to be from power being turned back on recently and a stove was left on by former tenant, all ok.
- Suspicious person at Baker Street. Complainant advised ongoing issue with someone cutting though her yard.
- Unknown at Landers Street. Subject hallucinating. He was offered medical treatment but refused. He advised his daughter is en-route to take him to the hospital.
- Suspicious vehicle at West Spring St. from the center of town towards WalMart. Gold passenger car driving reckless. Checked area with negative contact.
- Damage to property at West Creek Circle. Complainant reports her son’s hover board damaged by bigger kid.
- Theft report taken at 116 South Broad St. Complainant advised he believes male stole his HiPoint 9mm pistol at East Church Street, Jack Peters last Wednesday. Complainant did not have anything except a photo of the gun, he did not even know the brand name, it looked like a HiPoint.
- Suspicious person Michael Circle. Complainant advised she is in FL and heard two white males with a ladder were at her house. Windows and doors checked all ok, no one on location.
- Damage to property Highway 138, Great Oaks Retirement Home. Complainant requested report due to rock breaking her windshield.
- Damage to property at E. Church St. in regards to damage to house and vehicle. Female stated her vehicle rolled into her house. Vehicle had emergency brake engaged when she exited vehicle and unknown how it got disengaged. Report taken
- Medical issue, Monroe Area High School in regards to elderly diabetic female that fell at graduation ceremony. Monroe EMS arrived on scene to assist. All ok.
- Dispute at Elm Pl. between Cynthia Brown and female fighting. Female struck with glass vase in the face by Brown. Brown arrested for Possession of Cocaine and Aggravated Assault by officer. EMS arrived on scene to treat female.
- Dispute, W. Vine Street. (Conestoga Mobile Home Park) in regards to W/M w/ red hair driving white Chevy truck following W/F w/ blonde hair and pink shirt and couple seen verbally disputing earlier. Area checked with negative contact on couple or vehicle.
- Animal complaint Lopez Lane. in regards to complainant advising there was a copperhead snake on her front porch. Arrived on scene and snake slithered into bushes/unable to locate. Animal Control was advised.
- Suspicious person Atha Street. in regards to B/M yelling at unknown person and walking towards railroad tracks. Contact made with subjects who were verbally disputing. Parties separated and advised to stay off Atha Street. or he would be arrested.
- Suspicious person at Harris St. Legion in regards to multiple B/M riding dirt bikes w/o helmets in area. Checked area and motorcycles left area.
- Dispute, W. Spring St. (Haven Inn) in regards to manager charging customer credit card twice. Situation fixed, all ok.
- Dispute at Magnolia Terrace. Complainant stated subject on location and refusing to leave but left residence once police were called. No crime took place, incident documented.
- TPO violation, W. Spring Street. (Walton Athletic 24). Complainant stated his child’s mother has a TPO against him and pulled up to a gas station where he was and then drove by honking horn at him. Incident documented, no crime at this time
- Suspicious person on Atha Street in regards to W/F walking w/ infant and B/F seen approaching her in vehicle possibly trying to give her a ride. Checked area with negative contact. Caller was anonymous.
- Fight at Community Building on E. Church Street in regards to large crowds and possible gun fire. While on way, dispatch advised that shots were fired and vehicle fled from scene. Units arrived on scene and crowd dispersed. After investigating, physical altercation between sisters’ who were fighting an unknown female. Witnesses on scene advised female had a knife and a two subjects fired 1 round in the air and all parties left scene. Shell casing and a large knife recovered from scene and placed into evidence at MPD. Report taken and charges pending.
- Area check Felker Street. in regards to anonymous caller advising she could hear a group of guys yelling. Checked area with negative contact.
- Fight in area of Tanglewood Drive. in regards to large crowd in area and roadway, possibly about to fight. Arrived on scene and crowd dispersed. Was advised by some guests that it was a graduation party and nobody was fighting or shooting. All appeared ok. Officer remained stationary for extended period of time to keep crowds down.
- Dispute, Hwy 78 (Waffle House) in regards to unruly customers and dispute between waitresses. Contact made with customer and waitress, and cook/manager. Customer stated upset because of order not getting substituted correctly. Waitress stated upset due to staff being racist. Manager advised he wanted customer to leave and waitress could resign. Customer paid for food and left, waitress quit and left scene, all ok. Incident was verbal only.
- Fight Maple Street involving multiple subjects. Subjects got into altercation after high school graduation party. No parties wanted to press charges, no family violence.
- Burglary in progress at Ford Street. All units arrived on scene and discovered bird nest next to window where caller advised noises were coming from. Female came to door and advised all was ok.
- Fight, Nowell Street. Subjects involved in physical altercation. Male pushed female and stole $250 out of her purse. Male was gone when officers arrived. Warrants to be to for simple battery, theft, and cruelty to children.
- Damage to property at Claywheel Circle. Complainant advised while exiting the Valero yesterday someone backed into her car. Complainant advised she did not report it yesterday due to being in a hurry.
- Suspicious vehicle in the area of Alcovy and Vine. Black Kia FTML, possibly texting. Checked area with negative contact.
- Suspicious vehicle South Broad St., Chevron. Beige car FTML, possibly texting. Area checked with negative contact.
- EMS assist on Davis St. Ref to 15-year-old giving birth. Female said she did not know she was pregnant. Female states she has never had sex but her dad lets her consume alcohol at his parties in Tanglewood. CID notified.
- Violent dispute at South Madison Ave. Subjects involved in an altercation. Conflicting statements on who was the primary aggressor was.
- Suspicious vehicle Highway 138 and West Spring Street. Ref to passenger car driving reckless. Checked the area with negative contact.
- Assault report, Breedlove Dr. Ridgeview Asylum. Subject slapped fellow patient. Ridgeview requested subject to be arrested or transported to Clearview for a new mental evaluation so he could be taken to a different mental institution. Subject given ride to Clearview, report taken due to battery allegation.
