The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between Feb.17 – 23, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
- Suspicious Vehicle, Carwood Drive. Advised that vehicles are speeding up and down Carwood Drive. Will increase patrol and speed detection.
- 2049 Suspicious Vehicle at 2050 West Spring Street (Walmart) White female and White male in the parking lot Row 7 in Teal older model explorer appeared to be in a dispute. Negative contact with the vehicle
- Suspicious Vehicle at Longhorn Vehicle occupants appeared to be drunk and the servers at the restaurant concerned. Negative contact with the vehicle.
- Suspicious Vehicle, Cherokee. White Cadillac tinted windows following female in a white Prius possible a dispute. Negative contact with vehicle
- Domestic, Lacy St., complainant and Lachievious Smith got in an argument and complainant shirt got ripped opened. Smith arrest for domestic violence.
- Loud Music Complaint, White Oak. Advised loud music and singing coming from the residence. Advised to turn the music down.
- Firearms Discharged at East Marable St and Glen Iris Dr., complainant heard multiple shots. Negative contact with any evidence.
- EMS assist at West Fambrough Street. Chasen Wages thought he was having breathing problems. Wages had warrants for his arrest. Arrest Wages on the outstanding warrants and turned over to WCSO
- Suicide Threats, Maple Way. Called in by Georgia Crisis hotline. Female subject has extensive medical history and having trouble breathing. No threats made and transported to hospital by EMS for difficulty breathing.
- Damage to Property, Reed Way in reference to a 5-year-old running into vehicle while riding his bicycle. The owner of the vehicle and mother of child exchanged information. No report requested.
- Suspicious Vehicle in the area of Spring Street and Broad Street. The caller advised a Kia Spectra was failing to maintain its lane. Area checked with negative contact.
- Fight, East Church St., Chestnut Cupboard in reference to several subjects in the parking lot fighting with store clerk. Parties GOA upon arrival. Video surveillance revealed they started fight by shoving the unknown subject who was not on scene to file charges.
- Harassment report taken at MPD, complainant advised named male subject messaged her daughter who is 14-year-old, how much would it be for sex or how much dope it would be for sex.
- Discharging Firearms in the area of Poplar Street. Caller advised they heard approximately 20 shots from behind their residence. Area checked and it appeared to be coming from the county
- Firearms discharged at S. Broad St. (Southside). Caller advised she heard a pistol being fired in the woods. Check of Southside and Conestoga could not find any evidence of gun shots.
- Dispute nonviolent at Carwood Drive. In reference to a male subject on location and refusing to leave. The caller stated that she allowed male subject to stay at the residence until he could find a place. She gave him two weeks to find a place and now wants him gone. Advised of remedies. Male subject is wanted out of Barrow County but was not on location when officers arrived.
- Loud Music Complaint at Landers St. Loud music could be heard in the neighborhood also the caller smelled marijuana. Officer checked the area and could not locate the music or smell marijuana.
- Trespassing at Rosewood Lane, complainant had a friend that refused to leave the residence. The friend was gone upon officer arrival.
- Suspicious Vehicle at East Marable St (Mathews Park) Advised them the park was closed and told to leave.
- Domestic Non-Violent on Carwood Drive caller advised that a white male was at the front door hitting the door. Male subject on location wanting to retrieve another males’ personal belonging from female’s residence. Complainant was advised to tell subject that he needed to schedule a convenient time with female to retrieve his own property. Subject was advised to not return to the property.
- Loud Music Complaint on Heritage Ridge Ct. Caller advised could hear music coming from Heritage Ridge Drive. Check of the area could not hear any music.
- Dispute nonviolent at West Spring Street (Huddle House) four females on location refusing the pay for the food. Situation mediated and the females paid.
- Dispute nonviolent at Highway 11 Waffle House. Caller advised subject walked out with paying for food ($6.53) The complainant advised a named subject was with the two subjects that did not pay for the food. Unknown who the people who did not pay for the food are.
- Domestic Non-Violent, Fawnfield Dr., caller advised at her husband is refusing to leave her room and videotaping her. Situation Mediated and husband leaving for the evening.
- Wanted Person, Ash Lane in reference to Quindarious Crutchfield on location with an active warrant out of Walton County. Contact was made and he was arrested and taken to the jail without incident.
- Welfare Check at Hitachi in reference to making contact with male subject and having him contact his father. Contact was made with Human Resources who advised he was at work and would relay the message.
- Gunshot Wound, Creek View drive in reference to male subject shooting himself once in the chest. Subject was deceased on scene and turned over to coroner. CID and MPD Chaplain also responded to scene.
- Domestic at Hardees, couple in domestic dispute in Barrow County. Advised to notify respective agency to file incident report. Parties separated by family members. They came to Hardees to exchange vehicles with family. No family violence occurred in Monroe.
- Damage to Property, Boulevard in reference to a black BMW that was keyed between 1200 – 1310 this date. No witnesses and no cameras in the area.
- Officer called to meet in person at East Fambrough St., in reference to complainant wanting to retrieve personal property. Property was retrieved.
- Follow-up, Ash Street in reference to a stolen iPod out of the City of Jefferson. Investigator with Jefferson PD was had the device pin mapped to this area. Located iPod in subject’s possession and verify info through GCIC as stolen. The victim did not want to prosecute and just wanted item return. The iPod was turned over to victim.
- Suspicious Vehicle on Highway 78 near East Spring Street in reference to a black truck, unknown make and model, driving reckless. Area checked with negative contact.
