Monroe PD Reports: Driver carjacked after giving ride from Athens

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 20 – 26, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute, West Spring St., ref to a dispute between customer and a nail Technician, the situation was mediated.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Unisia Dr./Highway 78 East, reference elderly male exiting vehicle at traffic signal to supposedly stretch his legs from a black passenger vehicle. Checked the area with negative contact.
  • Carjacking, West Spring St., complainant stated he picked up 3 or 4 subjects this morning at approximately 0730 hours at an unknown location in Athens Ga. He offered to give subjects a ride to an unknown address in Monroe Ga for $25.00. Complainant stated he pulled into the Marathon Gas Station on West Spring Street to get cigarettes. Stated he came back out and was held up at gun point by a black male wearing a camouflage hat. Stated he gave him their $25.00 back and the keys. Subjects took off in an unknown direction in his 2005 Jeep Cherokee. BOLO given on vehicle and placed on GCIC.  CID was advised.  Report Taken
  • Found Property, Clubside Dr., complainant found a pill bottle with pills and clear plastic baggies inside it in his backyard. Collected pill bottle. Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle/Speeding, Highway 78 east/West Spring St., Dark in color charger travelling at a high rate of speed. Walton County Sheriff’s Office trying to catch up to the vehicle. Checked Highway 78 to Unisia Drive and had negative contact.  WCSO last had contact at Unisia Drive.
  • Burglary, Gatewood Way, complainant called in reference to someone breaking into her vacant rental properties. She advised nothing was missing just wanted to report it appeared someone had been entering the residence.  Requested a report.
  • Dispute, Hickory Dr., reference to unknown people disputing in the roadway. Officer conducted an area check with negative contact with anyone disputing. The Caller did not want to meet.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Walmart, spoke to the caller who advised that two small children were left unattended in a vehicle in the parking lot. They were concerned for the children’s safety.  They advised that the vehicle turned into a neighborhood and they lost contact. Officer patrolled the area.  Negative contact.
  • Drugs, Waffle House, N Broad, caller advised of a white passenger car in the parking lot doing drugs. Vehicle was gone on arrival, conducted an area check with negative contact.
  • Suspicious vehicle in the area of N Broad St, Blue Cadillac stopping in road way and laying drag. Conducted an area check negative contact.
  • Drugs, Master’s Dr., complainant stated that she think her neighbors are selling pills. Complainant was unable to provide how she knows and wanted to inform the police.
  • Dispute, Fair grounds, Church St., caller advised someone took his car keys. Conducted an area check and was unable to locate. Called complaint back and no answer.
  • Dispute, Waffle House, Unisia Dr., other called in reference to her daughter being bullied at the fair by a named subject. I explained to her that a criminal act had not taken place and she understood that. She requested a report due to an ongoing issue between her daughter and the female.
  • Fight, Sorrell St., anonymous complainant stated a large group of subjects were fighting in the area. negative contact.
  • EMS Assist, E Washington St., complainant stated that he was at an apt. when he was assaulted by named subject. An argument occurred over a female at which time named subject struck complainant in the head with a pair of brass knuckles. Named subject was gone on arrival report taken
  • Domestic Dispute, Master’s Dr., reference to complainant and James Vick being involved in a physical Dispute James was arrested for FV Battery.
  • Loud Music, North Broad St., Contact made and advised to turn the music down.
  • Dispute, J&B gas station, spoke with complainant who stated that a named male subject was taking her kids to the gas station when he was assaulted by someone. Male subject did not want to talk to the police, but complainant requested a report due to the fight happening in front of her kids.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, 78 West, WCSO advised a black 350z was traveling towards Monroe with no lights on. Contact with vehicle was made, driver was not sure how to turn the lights all the way on.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Claywill Cir., caller advised of a large group of juveniles in the road way. Said group was walking to the fairground all ok.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Harris St., caller advised of juveniles in the street. Conducted an area check negative contact.
  • EMS, Nowell St., reference to complainant calling because her ribs hurt from a past incident. She was transported by EMS.
  • Traffic Stop, Davis St., /Pine Park, Mr. Antonio Mullen was stopped for a stop sign violation and arrested for Driving with no driver’s license. 
  • 911 hang up, Davis St. Made contact with residents they advised all was ok.
  • Police Escort, Jerome Thompson was given a ride to Parkway place from Turner street.
  • EMS Assist, Carver Place, reference to female subject not responding to male subject on location. Upon Officers arrival it appeared male subject was having a seizure. Turned over to EMS.
  • Dispute, Pine Park, caller advised that a male in a red truck was outside her house throwing things at her window. Caller did not want to meet with police. Conducted an area check, negative contact.
