Monroe PD Reports: Families feuding, custody issues and school problems continue

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 22 to March 1, 2018. Due to the length, this report is split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Wanted Person, West Creek Cir., Charles White Jr on location with an active probation warrant out of the Walton County Sheriffs’ Office. Contact was made with White walking behind a house towards the Woodline. Officer issued verbal commands for White to stop walking and he began to flee. White was shortly apprehended after a foot chase through the woods. White was transported to the WCSO and charged with Disorderly Conduct
  • Counterfeit, East Spring St., complainant was saying someone tried to pass a $100 “For Motion Picture Only” bill.  As I was advising we place those into evidence she said she had 2-$20 and 1-$5 that were counterfeit she had on the safe door for other employees to recognize a fake bill. Placed bills into evidence. Report Taken.
  • Agency Assist, South Madison Ave., reference to making contact with a guardian of an Athens Clarke County student who was injured at school. A school employee also met at the residence. Negative contact with anyone at home. 
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., reference to a tan Buick passenger vehicle driving reckless through the parking lot. Negative contact with vehicle. 
  • Suspicious Vehicle, St. Broad, caller advised a male was riding a small dirt bike around the subdivision. Made contact and advised him that he was not allowed to drive on the road.
  • Harassing Phone Calls, Blaine St., Complainant concerned about receiving scam IRS calls.  Advised of remedies. Declined a report.
  • Threats, Blaine St., complainants concerned over a student saying and writing down they were going to get a gun and shoot up the school. Due to the mental capacity of the students going to speak further with CID on how to proceed forward.
  • Domestic Dispute, Walton Rd., complainant stated that she has a Temporary Protection Order against two subjects. Both individuals where at her home causing issues. The two were arrest for violation of TPO.
  • Traffic Stop, Birch Rd., noticed a vehicle with no tag. Conducted a stop and the driver (Boyd Walker) had an active warrant. Boyd was taken to jail and was served with his warrant.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., male and female on location eating. Male was intoxicated and upset about the food. Management advised he threatened them but wanted them to leave.  Escorted out. Declined a report.
  • Meet With officer on S Madison Ave., reference to meeting with Harvey Best and Jamie Graves. Both arrested for violation of TPO on previous call. Transported to the Walton County Jail. 
  • Theft, South Broad St./East 5th St., Subject advised he was jumped by two males with one being name given.
  • Flag Down, Alcovy St., reference a silver Honda CRV fail to maintain lane. Officer observed and did not notice any violations.
  • Robbery, 5th St./South Broad St., complainant stated he was robbed of $275.00 by two named subjects on East Fambrough. Spoke with resident on East Fambrough, and stated Mr. Hancock complainant was cursing him, and he told him to leave the property. No further information on the two subjects named. Subject was highly intoxicated upon speaking to and taking report.  Report taken.
  • Juvenile Problem, S Madison Ave., Contact made with mother who advised that an unknown child grabbed her child on the school bus and threatened to steal his lunch. Incident occurred in Social Circle. She was advised to report it to them.
  • Interference of Custody, South Hubbard St., Complainant has temp guardianship of the child.  The child’s birth mom arrived today and picked the child up without permission. The mother returned the child when complainant said she would call police. Report requested.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Hwy. 11 South, Walton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy requested an area check for a sports bike traveling at a high rate of speed and driving recklessly. Conducted area check with negative contact.
  • Assist Agency, Monroe Motor Inn Room. WCSO requested officers try to make contact with male subject in room # given and take him into custody. Negative contact at Monroe Motor Inn. Also, Deer acres was checked with negative findings.
  • Meet with Officer, Wheeler St., met with complainant. She advised that she felt an unknown person was going to try to cause problems with her.  She was advised if someone attempted to cause issues to call Officers back. 
  • Dispute, Glen Iris Dr., complainant was locked out of his home. Made contact with resident who let him in. Both parties appeared to be intoxicated.
  • Welfare Check, Ridgeview, complainant requested welfare check on husband. Husband has been admitted to Ridgeview and is okay.
  • Traffic Stop, Officer received a LPR hit on a white Chrysler 300 for no insurance and a suspended tag. The driver was cited for no insurance, expired tag, expired driver’s license, and no license on person. The vehicle was impounded by A Wrecker Service. 
  • Civil Matter, West Marable St., complainant wanted to speak to officers about how to evict his brother. The eviction Process was explained but, the brother called his sister and agreed to leave.
  • Suspicious Person, Glen Iris Dr., complainant stated that multiple subjects were behind her fence line and appeared to be engaged in suspicious activity. Officers walked the area with negative contact.
  • Possible Fight in the area of Perry St./Launius Ave., made contact with resident who advised he did not know anything about people fighting. Resident was having a small party on Perry St. Upon arrival an unknown black male fled on foot. No one at the party knew who he was. Resident’s gathering was shut down due to the multiple complaints.
  • Area Check, Conestoga MHP, Crisis hotline stated an unknown female called and stated she took 10 antidepressants. The caller was unable to provide a unit number, female’s name, or description.
  • Assault, Claywill Circle, complainant stated that her husband choked her and then left the location. No witnesses or physical evidence was observed. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person, Claywill Circle/Chestnut Lane, while leaving the area of the assault Officer observed a black male walk away avoiding being seen by Officer. While searching the area the male was observed hiding behind an a/c unit. He then ran from officer. Contact made in front of Claywill Circle.  Subject was identified as Timothy Hester. He was taken into custody for loitering and cited on a City Ordinance.
  • Dispute, East Church St., Dwight Malcom stated Craig Jernigan threatened him with a knife during a dispute. Malcom was arrested for probation violation warrant, Jernigan was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
