Monroe PD Reports: Kids arguing over shirt leads to drug/dui/meth trafficking arrests

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 4 – 10, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Stolen Vehicle in the area of Monroe High School.  Complainant stated her gray in color Chevrolet Astro van that was reported stolen out of Walton County on 05/01/2018, is possibly in the area of Monroe High School.  Stated she received a phone call that the vehicle is on the side of the road out of gas somewhere.  Officer patrolled a large area around the school and also the school property with negative contact.
  • Warrant attempt, Magnolia Terrace, Darren Hunter on location with valid warrants.  Received consent to search.  Strong odor of marijuana. Completing misc. report to send to housing.
  • Warrant Service, South Madison Ave., reference to Freddie Starks with a Walton County probation violation warrant. Transported to the Walton County Jail.  
  • Trespassing Hitachi, on location. Subject was delivering Department of Labor subpoenas to former employer. Subject left location upon request. All ok.
  • Other Law, East 5th St., male subject left personal care home on foot. Checked area with negative contact.
  • Dispute/Traffic Stop/Arrest, North Broad St., Dispute between two juveniles over a shirt.  The vehicle was leaving the scene and a traffic stop was conducted. Juvenile declined prosecution over physical altercation between her and the other juvenile. The two juveniles were charged with possession less than an ounce.  One male subject is charged possession less than an ounce.  Amanda Hall is charged with Habitual Violator-DWLS, DUI-Drugs, DUI-Child Endangerment, Contributing to Delinquency of a Minor x2.  Kenneth Hall is charged with Trafficking Meth (28 grams), Possession of Schedule IV, Possession less than an ounce, and Contributing to Delinquency of a Minor x2.
  • Warrant arrest, Alcovy St., Christopher Baker arrested for Probation Violation.
  • Shoplifting, Quality Foods.  Black male subject took one pack of steaks valued at $10.
  • Warrant arrest, South Madison Ave. Christopher Stephens wanted for Failure to appear out of the county. Transported to jail.
  • Suspicious Person, Carmichael Drugs, Reference to a tall skinny white male looking through vehicles.  Upon arrival a female walked up to my vehicle and advised it was the gentleman in a gold Toyota T100.  The subject left before I could get turned around to observe him. 
  • Dispute/Threats, Tanglewood Dr., complainant advised that a named male subject had assaulted her at Felker Park. Complainant did not want to prosecute, and it was not (FV), she advised she just wanted a restraining order.
  • Suspicious Persons, Reed St., reference to a white male and white female taking items from property.  The residence is vacant.  Parties were gone when officers arrived.
  • Civil Issue, East Marable St., reference to complainant’s mother cutting the power breaker off and leaving the residence, complainant was advised of remedies, everything on location ok.
  • Civil Issue, Towler St., /South Madison Ave., spoke with complainant who stated he had just finished cutting named subject’s yard and now he will not pay him. While talking to complainant, named subject arrived on scene and paid him. Complainant declined a report since he was paid.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, 6th St. Caller advised of a white ATV driving up and down the road. Conducted an area check was unable to locate.
  • Dispute, Pierce St., reference to two females having a verbal argument due to one female hurting her arm and the other refusing to take her to the hospital. That female was checked on scene by EMS, the situation was mediated, everything on location ok. 
  • Dispute, Pine Park, third party caller stated a black male with a baseball bat was yelling at another party behind apartment.  Officers spoke to multiple parties in the complex and everyone stated they did not see anything.  The caller did not wish to meet Officers. 
  • Suspicious Person, East Spring St., reference to a white male at the bus stop acting suspiciously.  Made contact with subject who had a valid ticket to Athens.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Marable St., Matthews Park, reference to a red in color Jeep Cherokee being on location unoccupied, area check conducted and made contact with male and female subjects, they were sitting by the lake having a conversation, they were advised the park is closed after dark. everything on location ok.
  • Juvenile Complaint, West Spring St., reference to juveniles on location driving through the parking lot and hanging out of the vehicle. Contact made with subjects and they were advised to leave.
  • Area Check, E Spring St., caller requested an area check while she was on location. She stated that a suspicious male has been on location the past few days.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., reference to two subjects disputing over keys.  Incident was mediated and both parties were advised of remedies.  Report taken.
  • Suspicious person, Hubbard St., reference to the residence seeing a large male subject run through their yard, area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Dispute, New Lacy St., complainant stated he was in an argument with another male while walking on the trail near his house. Complainant just requested officers to make sure nothing further happened.
