Monroe PD Reports: Man wants police to tell wife to allow him to use her car

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 2 – 8, 2018. Due to the length, this report was split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Child Molestation, Georgia Ave., DFACS became aware of a situation with a minor child and his grandma’s boyfriend, due to the child advising a school counselor.  Advised CID.
  • Harassing Calls, S Broad St., complainant with Refund Republic advised that a customer  has been calling and texting her since 0700 hours about her tax refund not being ready and information being wrong. Complainant advised that all information was entered correctly, and that IRS had not returned customer’s refund and that she was upset that she did not have her money. Complainant advised that she was afraid of the customer. Officer advised that if customer came to the business to call 911. All ok.
  • Traffic Stop, South Broad St / 2nd St. Joseph Barrett stopped due to Officers knowledge of Driving While License Suspended. Subject was taken into custody and fingerprinted at MPD. He was then transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office jail due to three convictions of DWSL and released to the jail staff without incident. Warrant to be taken for DWSL
  • Attempted Burglary, Lacy St., reference to someone attempting to make entry through a back door.  No entry made. Report taken.
  • Domestic, North Broad St., manager called in reference to a male subject on location arguing with an employee.  Manager wanted male subject barred from location, but he was not on scene.  WTBT on male subject.
  • Suspicious Persons, West Spring St., reference to a black male subject yelling and upset.  Made contact with the complainant, and determined it was a subject who suffers from mental issues with a group from Exceptional Community Services.  Male subject became upset in the Subway restaurant and threw a rock at a vehicle parked in front of Jackson Hewitt.  Owner of the vehicle did not wish to press charges.  Information was exchanged between owner and subject in charge of the group.  Report taken. 
  • Missing Person, Tall Oaks Dr. Complainant advised her 12-year-old juvenile was missing and had made contact with the bus driver and they did drop the child off. Child was located down the street and turned over to the mother. All was ok.
  • Theft, S Madison Ave., complainant reported someone filed a tax return in her name. Report taken.
  • Civil Dispute, Claywill Circle, reference to complainant wanting officers to tell his wife to let him use her vehicle since his was not running. Complainant was advised of the civil process a report was denied.
  • Suspicious Person, Clearview, Daniel Phillips refused to leave after being requested to do so. Daniel was arrested for loitering and transported to WCSO.
  • Fraud Report, South Madison Ave., complainant stated she was contacted by a named male subject who stated she was in contempt of court and needed to pay $300.00 in money cards. Report taken
  • Fraud Report, Tokyo Express, complainant being over charged $100, the Assist Manager advised that it was a mistake and refunded complainant the $100. Complainant denied a report.
  • Suspicious Person, East Washington, reference to complainant seeing a black male walking through her back yard through a path. Complainant asked for extra patrol.
  • Dispute, Magnolia Terrace, female subject would not leave the apartment and was not a resident. Subject was cited and released on disorderly conduct. She gathered her property and got a ride from family to Athens.
  • Suspicious Person, Mears St/South Madison Ave., While conducting an area check in the area of Mears Street and South Madison male subject was found to be near the rail road tracks subject advised he was homeless and he checked out ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., officer advised of a white van with out of state license plate sitting in the parking lot of Walmart occupied by several people. Contact made with the subjects, they were identified as international missionary students from various countries on location to purchase supplies.
  • Extra Patrol, Wild Child Diesel, WCSO Sgt. requested units patrol the area for named male subject who was evicted earlier this date and ensure he was not on location. Male subject was not on location but was across the street in his truck awaiting his family. WCSO Lt. was notified of the situation.
  • Suspicious Person, Hubbard St., While on location for the extra patrol officer observed a male subject looking into a vehicle with a flashlight and then enter the vehicle. He was identified, who was the boyfriend of the resident. All okay.
  • Drunk Driver, East Church St., Anonymous caller stated that a blue van was unable to maintain lane and was driving on the side walk. Conducted an area check and was unable to locate.
  • Mental Subject, West Spring St., Clearview in reference to patient trying to leave. Made contact with male subject whom was already back in his room upon officer arrival. Subject was currently under the influence of meth and was advised that the doctors were trying to help him detox. He understood and agreed to cooperate. All okay.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Walmart, Juvenile was caught by lost prevention with a speaker in his possession, which he did not pay for. Juvenile was detained and transported to the Monroe Police Department where he was released to his parent.
  • Fraud report taken at South Broad St., Monroe Police Department. complainant advised an unknown subject stole her bank information and made several unauthorized purchases from Monroe Walmart – December 2017
  • Meet with Officer, East Fambrough St., reference to missing cell phone pinging at the residence. Complainant advised her fiancé lost his phone at Walmart last date. She stated they used a phone app that ping the phone to this address. Officer attempted to make contact with any person on location. Negative contact with anyone.
  • 911 Hang Up, Pine Circle, Officers located an open door upon arrival. Made contact with homeowner on location. He advised all was okay.
  • Suspicious Person, Mill Street near the engine room. Male subject acting suspicious picking things up along the roadway.  Negative contact with the subject.
  • Dispute, Lacy St., reference to a male subject refusing to leave. Complainant advised subject was talking mean to her. Subject left on his own. Everything okay.
  • Assault in the area of Tanglewood in reference to a female advising she was being assaulted. She then disconnected the line. Officers searched the area with negative contact.
  • Dispute, Lacy St., reference to Johnathon Brown being back on location from above call. Brown was arrested for a probation violation through WCSO.
  • Warrant Attempt, Harris St., reference to locating subject whom has an active warrant for probation violation through WCSO. Anonymous complainant stated subject was on location wearing all black. Units were given consent to search residence. Negative contact with male on location.
  • Juvenile Complaint, Alcovy St., Juvenile Justice in reference to an upset juvenile running away. Upon arrival, probation advised the juvenile’s sister brought her back to the office. The juvenile was upset about being in trouble and tried to leave. Officers spoke to juvenile on location. Everything okay.
  • Unknown Problem, Pineview, reference to call possibly being domestic related. Neighbor’s dog was chasing complainant. Spoke with neighbor on Forest Lane. Dog was captured and placed back inside the residence. Residents were advised of leash law.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highway 78 W/B and Mount Vernon. Complainant advising a silver in color Kia Forte driving recklessly and speeding westbound toward Monroe. Area was checked with Negative contact.
