Monroe PD Reports: Mental health issues, road rage, suspect fleeing and juvenile complaints

The Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 20 – 26, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth time. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Theft, Great Oaks Dr., Amedisys director stated an ex-employee has not returned a company Samsung tablet after being terminated for over a month. Turned over to CID for further investigation. Report taken.
  • 911 Hang-up, Alcovy St., reference to parent disputing with daughter who would not leave the residence. Daughter was gone when officers arrived, all was okay.
  • Traffic Stop, West Highland Ave./North Broad St., White 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier stopped for brake light violation. Driver, Kristopher House, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Kristopher was fingerprinted and released on copy of citation.
  • Mental Subject, Double Springs Church Rd., Monroe Area High School. Transported juvenile to Piedmont Walton in reference to a 1013 order.
  • Unsecured Premise, Gatewood Way, reference to neighbor observing the front door opened to a vacant house. The residence was cleared and resecure. Contact made with the homeowner stating no one should be inside and she will set new alarms in the residence.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highway 138/West Spring St., EMS Med Unit# 2 calling in about a suspicious vehicle tailgating the unit and then traveled East on West Spring Street. Area was checked with negative contact with the vehicle.
  • Mental Subject, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to male subject leaving the ER in a paper gown and has a signed 1013 order. Male subject was located at his residence by Walton County Sheriff’s Office and turned back over to Piedmont Walton.
  • Fraud, Spruce Lane, reference to complainant receiving mail about an account opened up in her name and a check with her forged signature. Report taken.
  • Vehicle Pursuit, East Church St., reference to Apprentice Robertson driving a silver Honda Accord with active felony warrants. Subject fled in vehicle and crashed into a mailbox and street sign on Pine Park Street where he then fled on foot. Subject was caught by officer and arrested. Vehicle towed by Wrecker Service.
  • Assault, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to grandmother bringing her grandson to the hospital due to pain from a previous sexual assault, the assault occurred approximately 10 months ago and was reported then. Grandson advised he did not want to file a report this date. The supplemental report added to the original.
  • Theft report taken at S. Broad St., the complainant reported his iPhone 6S from Monroe Area High School.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, South Madison Ave./South Bd., reference to a black in color truck failure to maintain lane, area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to Dale Walker shoplifting groceries items, she was placed under arrest and transported to the City of Monroe Police Department to be fingerprinted and was released on a copy of the citation. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St., reference to a being flagged down to check out a vehicle in the parking lot.  Driver was waiting for his wife to come back out of the store and he was grabbing a nap.
  • Dispute, Hill St., Complainant denied a report after finding the missing vehicle in her backyard.
  • Damage to Property, West Spring St., Walmart, reference to shopping cart striking complainant’s vehicle.
  • Agency Assist, Walton Inn, reference to checking on the welfare of a juvenile, the complainant wanted his 2-year-old son checked on due to the child’s mother being on meth, the people in the room were not connected, everything on location ok.
  • Dispute, Breedlove Dr., Ridgeview, reference to husband upset over the care being provided to his wife by hospital staff.  Advised him to come back in the morning to speak with the people in charge about the care.
  • Suspicious Person, Magnolia Terrace, reference to a male subject walking around outside talking loudly, area check conducted with negative contact.
  • Noise Complaint, North Broad St., Amici, reference to a noise complaint.  Crew on site cleaning out the grease trap.  Advised them to speak to the boss about a different time in the future.
  • Dispute, Plaza Dr., Arnold Point Apts., reference to a verbal argument between married couple called in by a third party. No evidence or claims of family violence.
  • Unknown, Sporty Lane, reference to Annette Thomas being on location intoxicated ring the neighbor’s doorbell, she was arrested and issued a citation for public drunkenness. Report Taken
  • Juvenile Complaint, East Marable St., reference to a subject not getting up for school in time complainant told her. The subject was getting ready for school upon arrival. No other issues.
  • Welfare Check, Country Club Dr., complainant requested that officer’s check on his girlfriend in reference to her parents possibly abusing her.  Negative contact with the girlfriend.
  • Reckless Vehicle, Hwy 78 Eastbound from Lee Peters Rd. F-150 with a refrigerator in the back possibly speeding. Negative contact.
  • The dispute, Cook Pl., complainant stated baby’s father, name given, punched her in the face and broke her cell phone and ripped her book. Warrant to be taken on the father for Simple Battery- FV and Criminal Trespass.
  • Dispute, G.W. Carver Dr., Richard Donald stated he and the resident at Apartment # given have been disputing lately over a parking space.  The vehicle belonging to that apartment # was not in an actual parking space and was obstructing traffic.  Made contact with the owner of the vehicle and advised him to move it into an assigned space.  Mediated ok
  • Theft, West Creek Circle, meet with daughter of complainant says her mother has dementia and she misplaced her purse. Daughter said purse was in the room.
  • Meet with, South Broad St., the complainant was concerned for a white truck that was heading south on hwy. 11 into the county. All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, East Spring St., complainant called about his ex. who has possible signal 38D and is driving around white 1994 Honda Passport without valid insurance with their child in the car.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Plaza Dr., white passenger car in the playground area.  Negative contact with the vehicle.
  • Racing, Hwy 78 East near Unisia Dr. caller advised that a Mustang and a F250 were racing on Highway 78. negative contact.
  • Laying Drag in the area of Mayfield Dr./Plaza Dr./, officer heard a vehicle laying drag in the area.  Conducted a search and did not find the said vehicle.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Breedlove Dr., employee requested a Jeep Cherokee be checked out that has been on location for a week.  All checked ok.  Advised they would have it towed.
  • Trespassing, West Vine St., caller advised there is a female in a purple PT Cruiser at Lot # given that should not be there.  Spoke with a female in a purple Chevrolet HHR, and the homeowner of Lot # stated she was allowed to be on location and knew no reason why anyone would call.  Complainant did not wish to meet. All ok.
  • Road Rage, Michael Rd. toward city limits of Monroe, reference to a gold SUV, white Volkswagen, and a silver truck giving each other hand gestures while driving down the road.  Appeared to be arguing.  Negative contact with said vehicles.
  • Welfare Check, Olympian Way, Park Place Nursing Home requested an officer to make contact with daughter in reference to picking her mother up from the location. Daughter advised she was in route to get her mother.  All ok.
  • Agency Assist, DFACS, Georgia Ave., employee stated they needed an officer to stand by while they took custody of six children.  Prior to officer arrival, the father and children left the location.  DFCS is still waiting on the order from the judge.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, Sorrells St., reference to W/F dragging a juvenile while walking down the street.
  • Agency Assist, DFACS, Georgia Ave., Yamone Johnson causing a disturbance due to children being taken.  Mr. Johnson was placed under arrest for DOC and later released on the citation.  The order was signed by Judge and the children were taken into state custody.
  • Traffic Stop, James Huff Rd., Caralee Staples arrested for: too fast for conditions, No Insurance, Driving with No Valid Driver’s License, Cancelled Tag, Child Safety Seat, Possession of Marijuana less an ounce. Vehicle towed by towing company. DFACS on scene and placed juvenile son with father.
  • Meet with officer, Olympian Way, complainant wanted officers to tell her 94-year-old mother about her manner of driving from earlier today.
  • Suspicious Subject, John Deer Rd./Walton Rd., complainant stated her vehicle was almost struck at John Deer Rd./Walton Rd., by an 18-wheeler turning in front of her.  She stated she just wanted to let the police know.  All ok.
