Monroe PD Reports: Warrants taken on student after 12-year-old gets concussion

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between Feb.17 – 23, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person at Chestnut Cupboard in reference to male subject was left on location by an unknown subject because he didn’t have gas money. Subject’s sister was contacted, picked him up, and took him home in Athens.
  • Suspicious Person at Alcovy Groceries. Male subject on location with front door propped open, unloading personal property from his vehicle. Subject has key to store and will temporarily reside inside the store
  • Domestic, Forrest Lane in reference to complainant wanting male subject to leave. Both parties arguing over male subject’s behavior and being on property.
  • Warrant Service on South Broad Street at the Marathon Gas Station. Harold Swords arrested and taken to Monroe Municipal Court.
  • Traffic Stop on Pine Crest Drive in reference to speeding. Driver – Darrin Reinacher arrested for driving while unlicensed, no insurance, speeding and expired tag.
  • Dispute, Fawn Field Drive in reference to two (2) subjects in complainants’ garage, refusing to leave. Subjects were GOA in red passenger prior to officer arrival.
  • Child Abuse report taken at the Monroe Police Department. mother advised named male subject has been physically abusing two juvenile’s at the residence on Sherwood Drive. DFCS was notified regarding situation.
  • Traffic Crash, Pine Park Street. Two (2) vehicles, no injuries. Aliksa Telunken arrested for driving while license suspended.
  • Assault report taken at the Monroe Police Department. Father advised his 12-year-old son was attacked by name student on 02-14-17 at GWA and he received a concussion after being taken to ER. Student was punished by coach as was the victim and had to do push-ups. Warrant to be taken for Aggravated Assault.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., complainant requested information regarding a no contact bond against female subject
  • Suspicious Vehicle on West Spring Street near Highway 138 in reference to a gray passenger car failing to maintain its lane. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of Walton Street in reference to a white male and black female are riding the area in a white Ford Taurus. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle on Highway 138 towards the city limits in reference to a motorcycle passing multiple vehicles. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Russell Dr (Hammond Park) Subjects in the park after dark.  Was told to leave the park.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, South Broad St. (Chevron), male subject on location asking for drugs and appeared to be on drugs.  Subject stated he was not asking for drugs and did not appear under the influence at this time.  A consent search of this vehicle was done and no drugs found in it.
  • Threats, S Broad St., male subject made threats by telephone.  Threats to beat up complainant over disagreement about money.  Complainant did not want to press charges.  Just wanted the incident documented
  • Citizen wanting to speak with Officer at Monroe Police Department, mother asking question about her son’s girlfriend driving by her residence. Mother was given advice on how to handle the situation.
  • Loud Music at Cloverdale Drive.  Music coming from party across the street.  Advised to turn the music down.
  • Domestic Non Violent at Roosevelt St., wife in a verbal dispute with husband.  Husband left prior to police arrival and everything was ok on location.
  • Suspicious Vehicle at Russell Dr (Hammond Park) Two people in the park after hours.  Stated they wanted to Star Gaze.  Advised park was closed and they left.
  • Dispute Nonviolent at Hwy 78 (Waffle House)  four Females  refused to pay.  Left the location.  Subjects located at Davis ST and Magnolia driving a black Honda.  Subjects were escorted back to Waffle House and payed to avoid being prosecuted.
  • Domestic Dispute Non Violent, Fawnfield Dr., between married couple disputing about living arrangements during their divorce.  Situation Mediated.
  • Theft, North Broad Street (Waffle House) Customer left without paying for the food.  Possible suspect named.
  • Welfare Check, West Spring St., Marathon in reference to store being open without anyone on scene. Owner arrived on scene and advised clerk last date forgot to secure building. All ok.
  • Domestic, West Tall Oaks Dr., father accidently hit his child while moving a mattress. Child was being held by its mother when incident occurred. Mother and child left the residence. All ok.
  • Domestic, East Fambrough St., Eugene Wright and female in physical altercation due to infidelity. Wright arrested and charged with Simple Battery – Family Violence
  • Entering Auto, Stewart Court. Complainant’s Chrysler Crossfire was entered by two (2) black males at 0255 this date. No items taken, but video surveillance captured the subject rambling through the vehicle. Video placed into evidence.
  • Dispute, East Fambrough St., complainant stated that he wanted named male subject to leave.  Stated that male subject had a knife. Complainant stated that he did not want to press charges but wanted male subject to calm down from drinking.  Parties separated and was advised of to handle the situation.
  • Traffic Stop at 6th and S Broad St.  Samdreaka Floyd was failing to maintain lane.  Officer attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver fled on foot.  After a short foot chase Floyd was apprehended and found crack on his person.  Floyd was arrested for Cocaine possession, obstruction and parole warrants.  GSP responded due to officer vehicle striking Floyd’s car.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, South Madison Ave (Felker Park)  Person talking on the phone.  Advised that the park was closed and he left the park
