This week …
see our website for all our events, weekly classes and creative workshops
GROOVE IN THE SCULPTURE GARDEN is a collaboration between the Guild and the Membership Committees to bring Members together and to provide them with a fun event to invite their friends to, to introduce them to MWCA.  This event is open to the public.  Please come and bring your friends!

Silver Queen will be there with their wonderful taco food truck (bring money for the best tacos, EVER).

We’ll have lawn games, door prizes, live music and info about our classes, events and camps available.

* Any member that brings a friend will be entered in a SPECIAL DRAWING for a private painting party for up to 8 adults with Donna Coffman! HOW FUN! *  Colleen Jackson, our fundraising chair, has lots of great door prizes lined up, too!

Also, we’ll have an opportunity for you to help with our ART MD healing art kits. Come inside for a few minutes and get in on the fun of packing a few kits that will be given to local agencies and hospitals to give to children in times of trauma, sickness or loss.  Hundreds have already been delivered, but these agencies are requesting more!  Read more here about where they’ve been distributed and other ways you can help (hundreds of hand-painted angels needed!).

  • Volunteers are needed to help:  set up, man tables, greet, clean up.  Please respond to this email if you can help or call the center at 770-207-8937.
Drop-in workshop:
Astronaut Ice Cream and more!

Thursday, 6/27 @ 11:00 – 12:30
join Robin Humphrey on an art and science exploration for kids!More info: see our Facebook page event.  Tuesday, July 2 (no workshop on 7/4): Vinegar & Baking Soda Balloons
.Visit a galaxy far far away that’s actually right down the street! Our Art Camp Galaxy Gallery is open now through the end of July. This is a progressive installation that will just keep getting better and better with the additions from each of our camps. So fun!

Get out of the heat; come by and visit several times over the course of the summer. The kids can curl up on the floor pillows and read a book – courtesy of the Monroe Library.

The kids are really enjoying the collaborative nature of these camp projects. They seem to be even more proud of these public display accomplishments than just simply making stuff to bring home (although they’re doing that, too).

Admittance is always free to our Gallery. Pick up a class list and browse our shop while you visit!

Two weeks of ART Camp left!

  • Monday – Friday from 9 am – noon during the weeks of July 8 and July 22
  • Register HERE by the Friday before each camp
  • Mixed media – all kinds of fun techniques and projects!

Visit our website for details on our remaining camps!
