MPD invites the community to the Cotton Cafe for Coffee with a Cop on March 23

The City of Monroe Police Department is inviting the community to join them for Coffee with a Cop from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at the Cotton Cafe, 135 N. Broad Street, Monroe, GA 30655.

Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together-over coffee-to discuss issues and learn more about each other.

“Stop by The Cotton Cafe and meet your local Monroe Police officers. We are super excited to bond and build stronger relationships with those we protect and serve,” MPD published on its Facebook page.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are being held across the country in an effort to enable local police departments to make better and lasting connections with the communities they serve. The program is an attempt to advance the practice of community policing by improving relationships between police officers and community members “one cup of coffee at a time.”
