MPD Report: Shots fired, domestic disputes and woman arrested on warrants after walking in roadway

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 8 to 15, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Reed Way. Two individuals on location disputing. The male works nights and was tired, the female was concerned because of the way he was acting, report taken.
  • Suspicious person – Mill St / Lawrence St. Caller stated that a female was walking in the road. The caller was worried that she would get hit by a car. Contact with female was made, she had 2 warrants for her arrest. She was arrested and taken to Walton County Jail.
  • Meet With – Tanglewood Dr.  Subject had questions regarding the good behavior warrant and Temporary Protection Order process.
  • Wanted Person – Alcovy St.: In reference to a subject being wanted out of Walton County for Violation of Probation. Transported for probation.
  • Domestic – Tanglewood Dr. – In reference to a dispute between two males about the living situation. Report taken.
  • Discharging Firearms – Plaza Drive and Ridge Road – In reference to shots heard in the area. Negative contact.
  • Wanted Person – Alcovy St. – In reference to a subject having a probation warrant. King was arrested and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Wanted Person – Barrow County Line. Euriseo Sorrells located by Winder police. Euriseo had a warrant out of Monroe. Euriseo was turned over to Monroe Police and taken to Walton County Jail.
  • Domestic Dispute – E. Marable St; A subject was involved in a physical altercation with her 13-year-old adopted granddaughter. She was arrested and charged with cruelty to children 1st degree, battery and terroristic threats. DFCS was notified and responded to the scene
  • Dispute – Southside MHP: In reference to subject breaking grandmother’s window. He was arrested later in the evening during a follow-up.
  • Follow Up – Southside MHP:  Subject was arrested reference earlier call. Warrants To be taken for criminal trespass family violence.
  • Fire Assist – Ridgeview. Fire alarms going off on location. Workers at first refused to let in officers or advise them what was going on. After several minutes they advised a child pulled the alarm and caused another male to think there was a fire and run out of the building. Male was returned to his room scene turned over to Fire Department.
  • Suspicious person – Pine Park at Davis St. Subject was walking around drinking beer. He was cited and advised to return home.
  • Suspicious person – E. Church Pine Park. Subject walking to a friends’ house, he was advised not to walk in the roadway all ok.
  • Traffic Stop – N. Broad Street at Deer Acres Inn in reference to subject not wearing his seat safety belt. He was subsequently arrested for driving without a license, fingerprinted, and released on citations. Jay’s Wrecker Service retrieved the vehicle.
