MPD Report: Slew of civil disputes over parking, cost of services, cell phone, vehicle purchase

The City of Monroe Police reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 27 to March 5, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Walton Rd – In reference to vehicles parked on road behind the complainant’s house. Advised of options. 
  • Dispute – E. Church St. (Serra Tax Services) In reference to the complainant having issues with a subject over a Civil issue. The civil process was explained to the complainant.
  • Damage to Property – E. Spring St. – In reference to private property hit and run. Unknown vehicle.
  • Harassment – E. Fambrough St.: In reference to the complainant having on going civil issues with a subject. Civil process was explained to the complainant.
  • Dispute – Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in reference to a customer unhappy with his bill. Issue resolved. All ok.
  • Illegal Parking – N. Midland Ave. – In reference to the complainant having ongoing issues with vehicles parked illegally on road. Area checked. No illegally parked vehicles.
  • Dispute – Davis St. Argument between two parties. Argument was verbal only, however, one of the parties did break a cell phone belonging to him, but used by the other subject. Advised both parties of civil remedies.
  • Vehicle Pursuit – Initiated traffic stop for failure to maintain lane and a strong odor of marijuana at W. Spring and Jackson St. Vehicle fled and a pursuit followed. Pursuit ended when the vehicle wrecked on Carwood Dr and the driver ran on foot. The driver, Christopher Scott Moore was later apprehended at Deer Acres Inn. Charges are Fleeing/Attempting to Elude, Possession of marijuana less than 1 oz., failure to maintain lane.
  • 911 Hang up – Carver Pl. Civil dispute between a subject and homeowner. The subject was criminally trespassed for 3 years.
  • 911 Hang Up – Landers St. Verbal dispute between two parties. Situation was mediated. Non Family Violence.
  • Suspicious Person – E. Spring St. in reference to a homeless person sleeping at the laundromat. He was told to leave.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Plaza Dr. Attempted to make contact with the owner at Ridge Rd. Spoke with his grandson and he advised he would tell his grandpa about the vehicle. Spoke with the complainant, he was advised of the situation. All ok.
  • Damage To Property – South Side Park in reference to damage to a mailbox. Report will be made. Case number given to Complainant.
  • Illegal Parking – Knight St. All cars were moved into the proper area.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. – Walmart in reference to subject sleeping on location for over three days. Subject was escorted off the premises.
  • Harassing Text – Springer Ln. in reference to harassing text messages from daughter-in-law. Spoke with the complainant and advised her of remedies. Case number given and report will be done.
  • Mental Patient – at Piedmont Walton in reference to a mental patient becoming combative. Officers stood by while he was given medication.
  • Theft – Lakeview Dr. in reference to AirPods not being in the package that was delivered. Report taken.
  • Civil Issue – Tall Oaks E. in reference to a dispute over a purchased vehicle. Complainant was advised of this being a civil issue.
  • Civil Issues – N. Broad St; Cotton Cafe. Report of tenants removing water heater and other items. No other persons on location, the owner advised of civil issue/remedies.
  • Stolen Vehicle – W. Spring St.- Walmart. Complainant advised he forgot where he parked. All ok
