MPD Report: Slew of entering autos and stolen vehicles

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 23 – 30, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Mental Patient – W. Spring St (Piedmont Walton) – Hospital staff advised they needed law enforcement assistance to administer medication to a potentially violent subject due to them not wanting to restrain the subject. Medication was administered without law enforcement involvement. 
  • Mental Patient – Breedlove Dr (Ridgeview) – In reference to Ridgeview staff wanting Law enforcement or EMS to transport a non-admitted subject to the hospital for them for medical clearance. Subject did not want to be transported by EMS. Due to the subject not being admitted it was explained to staff that he could not be forced to go to Piedmont and he would be free to go.
  • Dispute – Store House Ct. Complainant got into an argument with her boyfriend who lives with her. Her boyfriend punched a hole in the staircase wall in result of the argument. Report taken
  • Gunshot Wound – W. Spring St. (Piedmont Walton) – Subject advised he was dropped off at the hospital after being shot in the right leg in the Tanglewood Subdivision while walking. Criminal Investigation Division responded.
  • Welfare Check – Landers St. Complainant and her boyfriend got into an argument. Complainant asked boyfriend to leave. After exiting the home approximately five shots were heard. spent casing were retrieved.
  • Entering Auto – In reference two vehicles being entered, both vehicles were unlocked Ga driver license taken. Unknown suspects. Report taken.
  • Stolen vehicle – 6th St. in reference to Silver Dodge Journey taken between the hours of 8pm- 6am. Vehicle was found abandoned on Maple Street.
  • Suspicious Vehicles X2 – Maple St. in reference to two stolen vehicles parked on site, report taken and vehicles removed by Taylors. Criminal Investigation Division notified.
  • Stolen Vehicle – W. 5th Street in reference to silver 2001 Chevrolet Blazer. Vehicle unlocked and key in dash, taken around 0545 this morning. Recovered on Maple Street.
  • Entering Auto – 6th St. in reference to vehicle entered and items stolen. Vehicle owner advised vehicle was not locked. Report taken.
  • Entering Auto – Marable lane- Complainant called in reference to his vehicle being entered in sometime last night. Vehicle was unlocked and nothing taken. Report declined.
  • Entering Auto – Bridgeport Lane. Complainant stated that someone broke into his Ford Taurus and stole $5.00 and his debit card.
  • Suspicious person – W. Spring St. at the BB&T Bank in reference to a subject was crawling on his knees with his pants down. Keith was transported to Piedmont Walton Hospital due to being intoxicated. Keith was charged with public intoxication.
  • Assault – W. Spring Street in reference to an assault on a 37-year-old female. Assault occurred in the county. Turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Missing Person – Lopez Lane. In reference to a subject, who is a Alzheimer’s patient wandering off from his residence. A brief search of the neighborhood and he was located in the woods behind a neighbors’ house. EMS was called due to his age and minor cuts on his arms. Turned over to family on scene.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Hickory Dr. and Sweetgum Dr. In reference to a vehicle parked in the roadway not running. Upon officer contact, the passenger fled scene on foot. He was identified and a warrant for obstruction was taken. The driver was given a verbal warning.
  • Gunfire – Nowell St. Reference to several residents stating that they heard 5-6 gunshots. Negative contact with persons involved. No shell casings located.
