MPD Reports: 12-year-old allegedly assaults mother during dispute over cell phone

Monroe, Ga. – The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 23 – 30, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – W. Marable St. – In reference to the complainant having issues with her neighbors. Advised of options.
  • Domestic – at MPD – In reference to complainant advising police of a dispute which occurred the previous day between his son and daughter.
  • Agency Assist – S. Broad St.t/Alcovy St.:  Assist Georgia State Patrol with traffic stop. Black male subject in khakis fled the vehicle.  GSP needed assistance identifying female that was in the car.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. (Beautyville Supply): Complainant advised a black female wearing a bright color shirt took some items without paying for them. Report Taken.
  • Runaway Juvenile – Launius Ave. – In reference to a subject who left guardian’s home at Monticello Dr. Turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Road Rage/Traffic Stop – N. Broad St: Van driving in the turn lane through downtown. Driver checked and advised to be mindful of other drivers.
  • Vehicle Collison/Arrest – Page St./E. Church St.:  Judy Duvall arrested for Driving under the influence -Combo and Improper Backing
  • Suspicious Vehicle on Hwy 78 and W. Spring St. In reference to a Black Kia Soul sitting through multiple light cycles. Vehicle was gone on arrival.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Tanglewood – In reference to water balloons being thrown at passing vehicles. A large group of juveniles observed with water guns and buckets. No balloons were seen being thrown at cars.
  • Traffic Stop – Block of N. Madison: Subject stopped for driving with no valid insurance. Subject was cited for no insurance and license not on person. Vehicle towed by Taylors.
  • Warrant service – Hill St. Noticed Sherwood Vinson’s truck parked on location. Officers conducted a knock and talk and spoke with neighbors. Units were advised that Sherwood has not been in the area and that he is the one that is now driving the truck.
  • Juvenile Complaint – Lacy St. and W. Creek Cir.: Juveniles throwing water balloons. Negative contact
  • Dispute – King St. Juveniles on location called 911 because their older 15-year-old brother sprayed them with the hose. Grandfather on location was advised they called and was turned over to him.
  • Traffic Stop – Pine Park. Noticed a black male with a red shirt driving a dirt bike. Male saw units and sped down Lacy St almost hitting people, and an officer. A vehicle pursuit occurred lost contact on W Creek Cir.
  • Theft – Walmart. The caller stated a red jeep pulled over at work site and males exited the vehicle and took things from the site. Attempted to make contact with the crew but was unable to. Unknown if it was workers that were on site.  No contact information for the construction company.
  • Warrant – Atha St. in reference to locating James Dillard who had an active warrant out of Morgan County.  Met with Morgan County and turned him over.
  • Welfare Check – N. Broad St.; Employees advised a female was asleep behind the wheel of her vehicle in the parking lot. The female was identified as Beverly Lemonds who was arrested for DUI drugs less safe, possession of drug-related objects, possession of schedule II (methamphetamine), possession of schedule II (adderall), drugs to be kept in original container, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
  • Warrant Served – Alcovy St. – State Probation in reference to a male on location ready for transport. While in route, Officers were advised the male, Courtney Thurmond, left the area on foot wearing a green shirt and blue jeans. An area check was conducted and officers were advised that he got into a cab at Walgreens. Negative contact. Walton County Sheriff’s Office was advised.
  • Theft – Hwy 78 West – Truck Stop in reference to an employee stealing items from the store during shift. Report only request.
  • Assault – W. Spring St. – Piedmont Walton in reference to complainant advising her husband assaulted her last date at Green Street. Warrants to be taken for simple battery-family violence.
  • Dispute – Alcovy St. – Monroe Golf and Country Club in reference to subject trying to jump from her father’s vehicle. Subject was transported to Piedmont Walton and turned over to the hospital staff for a mental evaluation.
  • Damage to Property – S. Madison Ave. and E. Fambrough St. Complainant stated she struck a pot-hole on S. Madison Ave. at East Fambrough Street this morning around 0930 hours. Report taken upon request.
  • Domestic – E. Church St. Complainant stated that her 12-year-old daughter punched her and pulled her hair during a dispute about a cell phone. Juvenile complaint to be filed.
