MPD Reports: 17-year-old eats a screw; elderly resident walks into the river

The City of Monroe Police Department reports the following incidents for the period Feb. 27 to March 5, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – Home Depot. In reference to someone walking into the home depot at around 0230 hours. I spoke with him and he stated he was the overnight manager taking a smoke break. 
  • Dispute – In reference to the clerk of Walton Truck Stop concerned about two men trying to buy tobacco underage. They were gone on arrival.
  • Agency Assist – Holly Hill Rd: In reference to Walton County Sheriff’s Office wanting MPD to make contact at this location with a subject. Negative contact with the subject, but contact was made with the owner of the residence.
  • Dispute – E. Spring Street – (Motor Inn): In reference to a subject took complainants’ money last date.
  • Dispute – Davis St.: In reference to a subject who keeps coming onto the property. The complainant was advised to change the locks on the residence.
  • Hit and run – W. Spring St. at HWY 138 vehicle collision between two vehicles and vehicle # 1 left the scene. Vehicle # 1 driver was identified and was placed under arrest and then  released on her citations.
  • Dispute – Knight St.: In reference to complainant having a civil dispute over her picture being taken. Situation was mediated. All okay.
  • Mental Patient – N. Midland Ave.: In reference to subject having suicidal thoughts. Turned over to EMS.
  • Follow Up – N. Wayne St. – In reference to reviewing the video for hit and run.
  • EMS Assist -Ridge View. 17-year-old on location ate a screw. Turned over to EMS upon arrival.
  • Damage to Property – Green St. Unknown suspect threw a paint can through the window of the residence. Report taken. 20M003288
  • Dispute – Zaxbys. Two parties involved in a verbal altercation. One subject alleged that others had threatened her. Insufficient probable cause for arrest. Both parties separated.
  • Dispute – Magnolia St. In reference to the complainant having a dispute with a group of unknown females outside a residence. Subjects were gone on arrival.
  • Dispute – New Lacy St. in reference to a dispute between complainant and guest at the house. Guest was gone when officers arrived..
  • EMS Assist – Alcovy St. in reference to a female having a mental health episode. Two subjects were at the location with active warrants. Both taken into custody and transported to Walton County Jail without incident.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Felker Park. A car parked in Felker Park after dark. Two males inside. I informed them of the park’s hours and warned them about their activities and trespassing after dark.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St., Ana’s Hair Salon in reference to a customer not liking her hair braiding and refusing to pay. The situation was mediated.
  • Illegal Parking – S. Broad St. A subject was parked in a handicap zone with no placards. She was issued a citation and sent on her way.
  • Welfare Check – Ammons Bridge at City limits in reference to an elderly subject walking into a river. The subject was given a ride by WCSO.
  • Juvenile Complaint – on the Double Springs Church Road Connector in reference to a school bus pulled over to the side with its hazards on. Contact made with the bus driver who advised two juvenile males were fighting and was requesting his dispatch for an additional bus. Both juveniles were separated off the bus and were warned to keep their hands to themselves and stay in their assigned seats. Situation mediated.
  • EMS assist – E. Washington St. near Post Office. Ref to a female slumped over the wheel of a grey passenger car.
  • Shots Fired – Lacy St; Officers responded to an area in response to report of shots fired. Several shell casings found and occupants of the house taken into custody for interviews. The scene was turned over to Criminal Investigation Division.
  • Missing Person – Heritage Trce. In reference to the subject leaving the residence earlier this date at approximately 1600 hours. Area searched, negative contact.
  • Meet with An Officer – W. Spring St. Complainant attempted to deposit money into the dropbox when the money got stuck. money was released and properly deposited. All ok.
  • Dispute – Towler St; In reference to a dispute between two parties. Parties were separated.
  • Dispute – Sorrells St. Residents stated no type of altercation occurred. The residents nor inside of the home showed any signs of a dispute.
  • Runaway Juvenile – Great Oaks Dr. A juvenile had run away from the restaurant. He was later found at Walmart by his parents.
  • Animal Complaint – W. 5th St. Report of a dog left outside in the rain. Owner could not be located, message left with animal control.
  • Damage to Property – Hill St. Complainant reported the back tires to her vehicle slashed on 2/26/2020. Report taken.
