MPD Reports: 7-year-old calls police to report grandparents ‘being mean’

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 4 – 10, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Alarm, Cherry Hill Rd., Walton Logistics, officers located Joseph Barrett and female subject behind the business collecting pallets. An odor of marijuana was observed and a probable cause search was conducted. Joseph had an active warrant through Walton County Sheriff’s Office for probation violation. He was arrested and taken to the Walton County Jail. Joseph had permission to be on location. Female was advised to leave.
  • Juvenile Complaint, West Creek Circle, reference to a 7-year-old advising her grandparents were being mean to her. The situation was mediated.
  • Dispute, New Lacy St., reference to male and female subjects in a verbal and possible physical dispute. Both parties were uncooperative and no primary aggressor could be identified. Parties were separated.
  • Dispute, East Tall Oaks, reference to a subject coming to a residence to fight complainant. Subjects were gone when the officer arrived. Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, South Broad St., northbound, reference to a black sedan. The vehicle stopped and SFST performed. No less safe act observed, and the driver was advised to call a sober driver.
  • Unknown Law, Vine St., unknown caller advising she needed officers in the mobile home park.  No specific lot number was given.  Negative contact.
  • Suspicious Vehicles, East Marable St., Matthews Park, three vehicles occupied “just talking”.  They were advised the park closed at dark and advised to “talk” elsewhere.
  • Search Warrant, East Spring St., Monroe Motor Inn, Jessica Puckett was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.  Warrant to be obtained on named male subject for Sale of Methamphetamine.
  • Dispute, Piedmont Walton, reference to a mental patient being physically combative with staff. Subject sedated. All okay.
  • Mental Patient, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, Mental patient was refusing to stay in bed and attempting to leave the room. ER staff gave the subject medication and he calmed down. All ok.
  • Agency Assist, South Madison Ave., reference to Animal Control on location locating an unsecured front door. The residence was cleared with no signs of a burglary. The front door could not be secured. The homeowner was notified by a neighbor. All ok.
  • Illegal Parking, Masters Dr., reference to the bus stop with complaints of a traffic hazard. The officer observed only one vehicle in the cul-de-sac, and it was parked in front of the house of the registered owner. All was ok.
  • Theft, Perry St., the complainant advised she was parked on the side of the road talking to friends when an unknown blacck male wearing a black jacket and jeans stole her mother’s prescriptions out of her front seat. She advised he took them and ran away. The subject got away with 90 tablets of Oxycodone. Officers made contact with male subject who fit the description. After searching the subject, he was released, Report taken.
  • Agency Assist, East Spring St., Monroe Motor Inn. reference to meeting with DFACS about allegations of child abuse.
  • Follow Up, Hill St., Anthony Johnson was arrested and released on citations stemming from an accident that occurred on 12/31/2018.
  • EMS Assist, East Spring St., reference to a female subject refusing to take her medication and causing a disturbance within the personal care home.  The subject stated she wanted to go to the hospital and was turned over to EMS.
  • Welfare check, Harris St., checking on two male subjects requested by the complainant.  The complainant had not been able to get a hold of his family in roughly a month. One of the subjects was found to be in jail and another subject was safe and at home with wife.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Vehicle in the area of North Broad St./Marable St. Female subject was learning how to drive and ran a stop sign. The adult took control of the vehicle prior to officers leaving.
  • Dispute, Armistead Cir., a reference to complainant getting into a dispute with named female subject.  Complainant’s car was damaged in the dispute, but she only wanted a report for documentation.  Parties were separated for the evening. All Ok.
