MPD Reports: Animal complaints, disputes, and vehicle rolls down driveway into neighbor’s home

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 21 – 28, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Tanglewood Dr. Verbal dispute between two individuals. Dispute over bills and needed food in the house. Situation was mediate and all ok.  
  • Traffic Stop – HWY 78 @ Unisia Dr; Kevin Wiley was arrested for driving on a suspended license and outstanding warrant out of Athens Clarke County.
  • Hit and run – Hwy 138 and W. Spring St. in reference to a White Kia Optima driven by a B/F striking the complainant and left the scene towards Athens. Report declined.
  • Rape – MPD Lobby. 12-year-old advised she was raped 7 years ago while she still lived in the city.
  • Suspicious vehicle – in the area of E. Church St. and the fairgrounds. Ref to a b/m on a 4-wheeler damaging the property. 4-wheeler located parked and unoccupied on Landers, no damage to fairgrounds. Officer attempted to secure gate but was unable to do so.
  • Theft report – Masters Dr. Ref to lawn mower
  • Dispute – S. Broad St., John’s Supermarket. Subject disputing with employees. Barred from property for 5 years.
  • Animal Complaint – Walker Dr. Pit Bulls from Walker Dr. got loose and killed/ate rabbits from another residence on Walker Dr. Handled by Animal Control.
  • Dispute – Walker Drive.. Resident saw note from Animal control on door and proceeded to other resident to confront victims. They were gone on arrival.
  • Loud Music – Walker Dr. – Homeowner was advised to turn down music and did so.
  • Dispute – Heritage Trace.  Complainant advised he was in a dispute with his roommate. Due to this being a group home the manager was contacted and he responded in order to help with the issue.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Birch St.; – Complainant reported a black SUV told her daughter they were going to get her. This happened around 1800 while daughter was walking down the sidewalk.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Matthews Park – Contact made with couple who were homeless and sleeping in the vehicle. Parties were advised to leave and did.
  • Damage to Property – Cedar Lane – Subjects’ vehicle got away from him and rolled down his neighbors’ driveway and hit his house. No damage was done to the house. Vehicle had minor damage was done to the vehicle.
  • Disturbing the Peace – E. Washington St.  Caller stated subjects being loud in the apartment.  Officer made contact and warned the subjects about the noise level.
  • Area Check – Historic Downtown Monroe – Area check conducted on foot. Kaity’s Downtown and the Wayfair Sunroom both found unsecured. Buildings were checked and secured.
  • Agency Assist – Bryant Rd. Ref to 14-year-old possibly on location reported run-a-way from Henry County and a foster home in Fayet County DFACS. Grandmother allowed us to search residence for her. Negative contact.
  • Follow up – Southview Dr. in reference to grandparents wanting information in reference to their granddaughter missing and haven’t had any contact with her since earlier this week. Granddaughter was discovered to have quit her job and left to S. C. on a Greyhound bus and did not want anything to do with her family.
