MPD Reports: Armed robbery, entering auto, shoplifting and slew of domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 6 – 12, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction. 

  • Entering Auto – W. Fambrough St.: Complainant stated that her vehicle’s door was ajar, and things are missing. Report Taken.
  • Warrant Attempt – Bryant Road: Subject taken into custody for probation violation warrants out of Walton County Sheriff’s Office.    1920987
  • Dispute – Bridgeport Pl.: Complainant stated that Edward Radford had struck her and told her he was going to kill her. he had left on foot but was located on 6th St. Edward was arrested for simple assault.
  • Assault – E. Spring St.: In reference the complainant being attacked by her ex-boyfriend.  Complainant did not wish to press charges and it was not an act of family violence.  Report taken for documentation purposes.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Bell St.: Subject located sleeping in his car behind the abandoned residence. Upon further inspection, another subject was located inside the residence sleeping. Both cited for loitering.
  • Theft – W. Washington St. – in reference to a diamondback blue bike taken of the front porch.  No report requested.
  • Harassment – 4th St. Two complainants stated subject drove by the residence again this morning and blew his horn causing a disturbance. The subject was gone on arrival. Remedies were advised.
  • Harassment – 4th Street. Two complainants advised subject once again was in the neighborhood blowing his horn. A neighbor across the street stated that the subject has been in the neighborhood multiple times this morning, waking everyone up and disturbing the peace. Officers conducted an area check with negative contact.
  • Domestic – W. 5th St. in reference to two subjects being in an altercation. The situation was mediated, and the parties were separated. Report taken.
  • Stolen Vehicle – E. Spring St. – Taylor’s Wrecker Service. Madison County Sheriff’s Office advised there was possibly a stolen red Dodge Neon on location in the impound lot. Officer made contact with the vehicle and it was confirmed stolen. Report was written under the original case number from impound.
  • Area Check – E. Washington St. / S. Broad St. in reference to the traffic light flashing red. DOT was notified.
  • Traffic Stop – Jackson St. at McDaniel St. Vehicle stop for multiple violations including a brake light violation and failure to use a turn signal. The subject was arrested for driving with no valid license. She was fingerprinted and released on copy of citation.
  • Damage to Property – MPD. Complainant called in reference to needing a police report for the vehicle fire that occurred on 6/9/2019. Report taken under original case number.
  • Counterfeit Money – N Broad St – Waffle House. Complainant advised a black male attempted to pay for food with a counterfeit $100 dollar bill. Report taken. Officer will follow up next date.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. Warrant to be taken on subject who was arrested for Theft by Shoplifting. Wal-Mart also impounded her vehicle off the property.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St., Cricket Wireless. Subject has been issued a criminal trespass. Situation resolved.
  • Armed robbery – E. Fambrough St. Complainant advised he was robbed by a black male wearing a white shirt, black pants. Complainant advised the subject struck him over the head and took $13.00 from him. Turned over to Criminal Investigation Division
  • Dispute – Towler St. near Camptown Gardens. Complainant advised that subject lives in his vehicle arguing with girlfriend. Was Gone on arrival. All ok
  • Disturbing the peace – Persimmion Chase. Ref: to subjects using power tools late at night. Construction crew on location, sent on their way.
  • Damage to property – Complainant on Pierce St. advised her daughter damaged her black Honda civic. Report taken
  • Dispute – Lake View Dr. Subject was staying at a friends’ house and causing issues over money, parties were separated. All ok.
