The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 28 to March 4, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Hit and run – HW 78, Truck Stop. Red semi hit another and left the scene near the gas pumps. Report was made in GEARS. Second vehicle was found at Walmart DC.
Found Property – Glen Iris Dr. In reference to a possible gun found in the pine straw. It was discovered to be a miniature plastic lighter shaped like a rifle.
Dispute – West Spring St., Cricket Wireless. an employee having a dispute with a customer over changes to her account. Report taken.
Theft attempt – East Spring St., 1025 Church. Video from 03:30 hours showed someone attempting to take an offering box off a wall and get into the church bus. A subject was arrested for criminal attempt to commit theft, criminal attempt entering auto, criminal trespass, poss. of burglary tools, and loitering and prowling.
Request area check – West Spring St., Piedmont Walton. Ref to a mental evaluation patient that left the building. Subject was found and returned to the hospital without incident.
Injured animal – Kendall Ct. Ref to a b/m kicking and striking a dog. Two parties disputing. Report was made all ok. Parties were separated.
Dispute – West Spring St., Family Dollar. Irate customer in the store upset over a lost phone. Customer left the store prior to officers’ arrival.
Lost Item – Perry St. In reference to a lost cell phone from Family Dollar. Complainant advised that they located their phone at a friend’s house. All ok.
Dispute – Magnolia Ter. Subject and the father of her child who is refusing to leave and is intoxicated. Subject left without incident, no FV crime occurred.
Suspicious Person – Gatewood Way. In reference to the complainant stating that they caught subjects on their surveillance camera possibly attempting to enter the residence. Officer viewed camera footage and made a report for document purposes.
Suspicious Person – W Spring St. Advance Auto. In reference to a hispanic male on location acting suspicious. Male in question was attempting to fix his vehicle. All ok.
Suspicious Vehicle -South Madison Ave a vehicle stopped in the roadway. Subject advised he was lost and was trying to find Deer Acres Inn. He was given directions.
Dispute – Glenwood Dr. In reference to a juvenile complainant advising that their mother and stepfather were in a dispute. Officer made contact with the homeowner who advised all was ok. Did not appear a dispute was taking place.
Disturbing the Peace – N Midland Ave. In reference to the complainant advising that their neighbors are being loud and causing a disturbance. Homeowner was advised to keep the noise down.
