MPD Reports: Assault, family violence, depression and domestic dispute reports keep police busy

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Aug. 1 – 8, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – at Bojangles; Victim was allegedly assaulted by Tracy Casper. This was witnessed. The subject was located by Walton County Sheriff’s at Snows Mill Rd and MPD responded to the residence to place Casper under arrest for simple battery Family Violence Act. Walton County Sheriff’s Office ordered MPD to leave and apply for a warrant for them to serve at a later date. Walton County Sheriff’s Office placed Casper under arrest after they were advised that they had probable cause to believe an act of family violence had occurred and were required to make an arrest. 
  • Suspicious Person – Davis St./Lacy St. in reference to three juvenile black males in the area possibly waving handgun around. Parties fled on foot at sight of law enforcement.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St. Complainant advised that at approximately 1500 hours she was in a dispute at Skyline Trace with a subject. During the dispute, subject struck complainant with a cane across the back. EMS advised they only observed a small bruise to the back of complainant. Report taken.
  • Search Warrant – Davis St. Officers assisted Joint Ops with a search warrant.
  • Dispute – Towler St. in reference to a dispute between two individuals. Parties mediated and separated.
  • Mental Health – E. Church St. Subject advised he wished to seek treatment for being depressed. EMS responded to the scene and transported subject to Piedmont Walton.
  • Traffic Stop – Harris St./Ash St. in reference to no tag displayed. Driver was arrested on outstanding Failure to Appear warrant from MPD.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 78 WB in reference to a Jeep Cherokee driving reckless. Vehicle was located at Bank of America. Turned over to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Dispute Report – at MPD. Complainants wanted to make a report in regards to a subject entering their residence this morning without permission. The subject left the residence last date and stated he was there to get property. Report taken upon request.
  • Accident – at Washington St. and S. Broad St. Two vehicles with the complaint of injury. Citation issued to driver #1 for following too closely. Report taken.
  • Meet with Officer – at MPD. The complainant wanted advice in reference to being in an abusive relationship. Complainant resides in Covington. Remedies were advised.
  • Found Property – Mill Creek Way in reference to family finding items in the attic from a previous tenant. The items were turned over to the property manager who will attempt to make contact.
  • Entering Auto – S. Madison Ave. The complainant stated her vehicle was entered sometime between 2100 hours last date and 0430 hours this date. Nothing was taken. Report requested.
  • Hit and Run – Bold Springs Rd. – All Star. Complainant stated a dark blue vehicle with tinted windows struck his vehicle in the parking lot. The suspect vehicle is a blue Toyota Scion driven by a named person. Multiple attempts were made to make contact with the subject. Report taken. Further investigation needed.
  • Flag Down – at Overlook Trail in reference to grandmother having questions about how to enroll her grandchildren into school.
