MPD Reports: Assaults, disputes and mental health issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 28, 2018 – Jan. 3, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Vehicle, South Broad St./East Church St., anonymous complainant stated a white Tahoe had been following them for several minutes, Complainant called back and requested Officers to disregard as the vehicle was no longer following them.
  • Unknown Law, Shamrock Dr., complainant involved in a physical dispute with his brother.  Complainant refused to press charges. Situation mediated.
  • Discharging Firearms, West Spring St., Quality Foods, reference to the complainant hearing two shots fired in the area of Plaza Dr. Conducted an area check and had negative contact.
  • Agency Assist, West Spring St., DFACS, reference to making contact with male subject, negative Contact. Contact was made with male subject at Plant 4 on South Broad. Turned over to DFACS.
  • Dispute, Wheelhouse Lane, reference to an anonymous caller stating there was parties yelling in apartment.  Officer heard yelling while getting out of vehicle.  Officer made contact and spoke with parties on location.  During the course of the investigation Faheem Bennett fled on foot while Officer was attempting to identify him.  He was taken into custody and charged with obstruction and false name and date of birth.
  • Dispute, Shamrock Dr., brother from earlier call was given a ride to the Haven Inn for the night.
  • Loud Music, 4th St., officer patrolled the area and had negative contact with any music.  Spoke to the complainant who advised the music was now off.  All ok.
  • Mental health issue, West Spring St., couple on scene in reference to being homeless at Wal-Mart. Wanted to press charges on named subject for taking her car despite being the registered owner. Situation mediated.
  • Mental health issue, South Broad St., two complainants stated named female was taking their money and belongings. One complainant & named subject are both on account together. Both were explained on the civil process. Situation mediated.
  • Assault, West Spring St., met with the victim. she stated her ex-boyfriend hit her in her right eye. Report Taken.
  • Dispute, Perry St., named male subject causing a disturbance, situation mediated.
  • 911 Hang Up, West Spring St., met with two subjects. They advised they was not happy with the service. The store manager wanted them to leave. Both parties separated. The incident was mediated.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., met with complainant. She stated she reserve a room for her relatives and she was overcharged. Employee advised that she did not have the authorization to do the refund. The manager is in route to the location to handle. Complainant was advised of the civil process.
  • Traffic Stop, West Spring St./GA-138, David Haynes Jr stopped for running red light. Arrested for warrants out of Athens-Clarke County.
  • Dispute, W. Fambrough St., property manager asked a female to leave the office.  Parties separated.
  • Dispute, Tanglewood Dr., property manager needed officer to stand by while subject left apartment.  Situation mediated prior to arrival.
  • Dispute, Maple Ln., met with complainant in reference to an argument over where the maintenance vehicle is parked. The incident was mediated and both parties separated.
  • Dispute, South Broad St., the owner wanted named male subject to be issued a criminal trespass.
  • Runaway Juvenile, Baron Dr., met with mother. She stated her daughter left the residence yesterday in the morning. Report Taken.
