MPD Reports: Assaults, suicide threats and several other mental health issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 5 – 12, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suicide threats – E. Church St. Subject transported to Piedmont Walton for evaluation by EMS
  • Shoplifting – South Broad St., Dollar General. Ref to 12-year-old attempting to steal candy, all ok. 
  • Mental Patient – S. Broad St. – Subject was having a dispute with his roommate and supposedly was running out into traffic. The subject stated that he was not running into traffic. The subject’s caretaker requested he gets checked by EMS. EMS checked the subject and he was ok.
  • Suspicious Person – S Broad St & 6th St. Duplicate call to the one above called in by a different complainant about 20 minutes after the incident had occurred.
  • Loud Music – Hickory Dr. Spoke with the complainant, she advised the people across the street at Hickory Drive and were playing loud music. Spoke with Subjects, they advised they were installing a stereo system but they are finished.
  • Threats – Union St. in reference to threats being made. I spoke with the complainant. Advised him of remedies, gave him a case number and a report will be made.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Birch St. Disabled vehicle off of Birch St. on the roadway of Aimee Briggery Homes. The owner stated the vehicle would be moved in the morning of the next date.
  • Assault – W Spring St. Piedmont Walton – Victim was assaulted by a subject while she was visiting with a friend in Thomson Ga. An investigator with Thomson PD advised he would contact our investigation unit to get the report.
  • Mental Patient – W. Spring St; Piedmont Walton. In reference to a patient reportedly beating his head on the wall. Officer was able to get the patient to cooperate and allow the nurse to give him his medication.
  • Search Warrant – S Broad St. Officers assisted in a search warrant of residence.
  • Suspicious person – W. Spring St. Dollar Tree Subject was riding his bike in between vehicles in the parking lot. All Okay.
  • Mental Health Complainant – S. Broad St., MPD. in reference to subject claiming there are people in his house unlocking his windows. Previous history and mental issues.
  • Follow up – Tall Oaks Ln. in reference to the previous call. Checked welfare of subject and spoke to mother in reference to mental issues.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. (Title Max.): In reference to a white, heavy-set male with brown curly hair wearing a gray shirt talking with himself. Made contact with subject who stated just walking to Liberty Tax Services to have his tax done. All okay.
  • Escort – Baker St., Custom Woodwork. Referred to Civil court in reference to retrieving lost items.
  • Dispute – S. Broad St. (Dollar General): In reference to a white male causing a disturbance and was asked to leave. The subject was gone upon Law Enforcement Arrival.
  • Damage to Property – E. Spring St.; 360 Salon: In reference to a Private Property collision with no injuries. Report taken.
  • Mental Patient – W. Spring St. (Piedmont Walton): In reference to a mental patient that has mental evaluation paperwork signed walked out of the hospital. Walton County Sheriff’s Office made contact and returned the subject back to the hospital. All okay.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. Female subject was placed under arrest for Theft by Shoplifting and Criminal Trespass. She was fingerprinted and the Police Department and was released on citations.
  • Damage to property – Walton Road. In reference to complainant wanting to report a large amount of property damage done to his rental property by the previous tenants.
  • Theft Report – Deer Acres Inn. The complainant wanted a report for her temporary tag that had gone missing from her car. Report taken.
  • Damage to property – N. Hammond Dr; Complainant reported damage to her vehicle. Based on where the damage was located on the vehicle and how the complainant parked it did not appear to have occurred at this location. The complainant was advised to file a report with Social Circle as well.
  • Threats – Plaza Dr. Reference to threatening phone calls made by a subject. The complainant was advised of the TPO process.
  • Suspicious Person – Broad St. Noticed a female walking in the roadway. Upon making contact it was determined she had active warrants and she was placed under arrest without incident.
  • Inmate Transport – Fulton County Jail. Rice St. Atlanta. in reference to a subject who was transported to WCSO jail on MPD Charges.
  • Mental Health – W. Spring St. Piedmont Walton ER. in reference to a subject escaping out of the ER. He ran from officers and then fought with officers trying to detain him. He was charged with misdemeanor Obstruction and transported to the jail without incident.
