MPD Reports: Auto entries, juvenile complaints and arrest for tampering with a monitoring device

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 18 – 25, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Dispute – W 5th Street: in reference to parent’s were arguing with son due to son was being disrespectful to mother. Report taken. 

Shoplifting – West Spring Street at Wal-Mart: In reference to an employee stealing merchandise. The subject was arrested for shoplifting. 

Runaway Juvenile – South Madison Ave. (Felker Park): In reference to juvenile not returning home from school. Juvenile was entered on GCIC as a runaway juvenile. Report taken. 

Suspicious Vehicle – Sweetgum Dr Complainant stated an unknown vehicle parked in front of residence, officer arrived and vehicle fled upon officer presence. The subject was arrested for Fleeing and Eluding and possession of marijuana and transported to W.C.S.O Jail. 

Suspicious person – North Broad St., Waffle House. Loganville Police Officer reported a stranded female. Contact was made with subject, who was given a courtesy ride to her residence in Barrow County. 

Entering auto – Mountain View Dr. Complainant reported her unlocked vehicle being entered overnight. Wallet and $32 taken from unlocked vehicle. 

Dispute -Ammons Bridge Road. Called in by Monroe Fire Department in reference to what was thought to be a dispute. Turned out to be a disabled vehicle, all ok. 

Dispute – E. Marable Street. Two subject involved in a physical domestic dispute. WTBT for battery (FVA) against one. 

Follow Up – E. Marable Street. Subject from the previous complaint arrested for Battery (FVA) and taken to Walton County Jail. 

Shoplifting – W. Spring Street at Walmart. In reference to a juvenile shoplifting. Juvenile was turned over to her parents. 

Entering Auto – White Oak Lane. In reference to an unlocked vehicle entered. No items were taken. Report completed. 

Juvenile Complaint – Atha Street; E. In reference to 13-year-old brother stealing money. 

Dispute – Douglas St. In reference to the complainant advising that their parents will not let them gather their belongings. Officers stood by while complainant gathered belongings. All ok. 

Follow Up – W Spring St. Piedmont Walton. Subject from previous arrest was arrested and transported to the Walton County jail in reference to an incident during day shift rotation where charges were taken. 

Suspicious Vehicle – S Madison Ave. Felker Park. Subject was advised of park hours. Vehicle was searched due to the odor of marijuana. Verbal warning was issued. 

Follow up – Classic Trail. Ref to Juvenile returning home after running off. Juvenile was taken off GCIC by dispatch. 

Juvenile problem – South Broad St., Southside MHP. Ref to Complainant wanting to report that her grandson was refusing to go school for his mom. 

Dispute – South Midland Ave. Exceptional Community Service. Subject criminally trespassed from S. Midland and E. Church Street due to causing a disturbance. Subject then given a ride home. 

Theft report – South Hammond Dr. Civil issue over use of a debit card, remedies advised. 

Trespass – West Spring St., McDonalds. Female subject trespassed from the listed location after a dispute over a $10 order. 

Agency Assist – East Church St., Jack Peters. Investigator made contact and arrested a subject for tampering with an electronic monitoring device. She was transported to WC Jail by MPD. 

Dispute – Lakeview Dr. Complainant had questions about the mental evaluation process. Remedies advised.
