MPD Reports: Bullet comes through ceiling, PUI arrest, suicide attempt

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 1 – 8, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person – Lakeview Dr.:  Subject on location looking for his wallet. He was advised to go home for the night. He was intoxicated and was provided a ride by a friend. While units were leaving the subject left his friends car and continued to look for his wallet. He was arrested for P.U.I and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Combative Mental Patient – W. Spring St. (Piedmont Walton) – In reference to Kenneth Wilson throwing items in the hospital room and refusing to give officers full name and DOB. Arrested for Disorderly Conduct.
  • Theft King St. Complainant stated she thinks she has lost her wallet while at a yard sale. She requested a report at this time.
  • Traffic Stop – E. Washington and S. Madison: Woman arrested for driving while license suspended. She was fingerprinted and released on copy of the citation.
  • Suicide attempt – Tall Oaks E. Man called after his wife had locked herself inside the bathroom and would not come out. Officer had to use a handcuff key to pick the lock and make entry. Upon doing so she was located bleeding from a slit wrist. She was still sitting on a large kitchen knife. The knife was removed and a tourniquet was placed on her arm and she was turned over to EMS and transported the Athens, report taken.
  • Traffic Stop – S. Hammond Dr. and E. Church St.: Darrion Blackwell arrested for City of Monroe warrants. Released to the custody of the Walton County jail.
  • Loud Music – Glen Iris Drive.  Officers made contact with the owner of a residence on Tuner St.  He was warned about noise complaints and advised that if this happens again, he will be cited or disorderly house.
  • Noise Complaint – E. Fambrough St.: Subject cited for unruly household after approximately 50 subjects exited his house. Dykim Smith also arrested for local warrants and cited for Disorderly Conduct after a short foot pursuit into the storage facility located at S. Broad and E. Fifth St.
  • Dispute – Pine Park.  The caller stated a large group was arguing and one party pulled a gun out.  A witness had a video of the incident on her phone.  The male with the gun was identified by a witness as “Junebug”.  She did not know his real name.  Officers canvassed the area and were unable to locate the subject.  Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person -Walker Dr. Noticed a male that matched the description of a wanted person who officers were looking for. He was not the intended subject, but he did have an active warrant out of Walton County. He was arrest and transported to the jail free of incident.
  • Domestic – Southside Mobile Homes. Dispute between a subject, and Brandon McColley. Brandon was arrested for simple battery. Report taken.
  • Damage To Property – West Creek Circle.  Complainant stated that while in his living room he heard a loud noise in the residence.  He believed something had fallen off his wall, so he began to search the inside of the residence.  When he went into his room, he observed a hole in his ceiling.  He began to look around the room and located a bullet on the floor.  The hole in the ceiling was consistent with a bullet being shot into the sky and coming down into his roof.  The bullet was taken for evidence purposes.  Report taken.
