MPD Reports: Cases of elder abuse; domestic disputes; fraud; suicide threat and person found deceased in her truck

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 6 – 12, 2024. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Juvenile Complaint – Reference juvenile walking out of Ridgeview with a direction of travel towards McDaniel Street. Last seen wearing black shirt, black shoes with black hair, 5’0” in height and slim build. Subject was located at the address on Hampton Drive and returned to guardian.
• Suicide Threat – Tanglewood Ln- In reference to subject stating to staff members of Advantage that he wanted to harm himself. Contact was made with subject who advised he had no intentions of harming himself or anyone else at this time. A phone conversation was held with staff at Advantage to explain what subject had stated. All appeared okay on location.
• Car Accident – E Spring st; Monroe Motor Inn – In reference to a two vehicle accident with no injuries. Gears report completed.
• Fraud -Meadow Farms Way – Reference credit alerts of compromised social security number, complainant froze accounts with credit agencies. No money or lines of credit taken in the complainant’s name. Incident documented.
• Car accident – Unisia Dr; – In reference to a two vehicle accident with no injuries. Gears report completed.
• DOA- Unisia Drive – In reference to a named female being found deceased on location by staff members in her work truck. CID and Coroner responded along with the fire department for a lift assist.
• Vehicle Unlock – East Spring Street- In reference to keys locked inside of a Walton County EMS truck. Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Dispute – Great Oaks Drive- Reference verbal altercation between a manager and patient during the altercation the patient pushed open the door to subject’s office that she was trying to close, this placed subject in fear of receiving an injury. Another employee witnessed the event and completed a statement form. The patient was charged with Disorderly conduct, issued a city summons and released on scene, he was also criminally trespassed from the business.
• Harassment – West Spring St- Complainant reporting being harassed by a subject while at work, report taken and remedies advised.
• Dispute – Mayfield Dr – Complainant called in reference to a recently fired employee refusing to leave. Situation mediated.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – South Broad St/WCSO – Male subject stopped for traffic violations. He was placed under arrest for possession of firearm by convicted felon.
• (Welfare Check) 612 W Creek Cir. In reference to a family member calling for a welfare check on a female due to her nephew being disrespectful. All ok, remedies advised.
• Theft report – GW Carver Dr: In reference to the complainant advising someone is stealing water from her spigot, and being charged for the utilities. Complainant is unaware of who is possibly using her utilities due to it occurring early in the morning. She was advised of remedies. Report taken.
• Reckless drivers – Hwy 78W near Snip Dillard Rd, DOT Monroe. In reference to two white Ford F-150’s cutting each other off at a high rate of speed. Area checked, negative contact.
• Stranded Motorist – Charlotte Rowell Blvd/Hwy 78 WB Exit Ramp – White Chevrolet Silverado leaking fluid and unable to move off the roadway. Turned over to Taylor’s Wrecker.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Alcovy St/Breedlove Dr – grey Chevrolet Malibu stopped for defective headlight. Driver Ronnie Foster was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. Released on copies from Monroe PD.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Hwy 138/Valero – In reference to a vehicle that appeared to be involved in a wreck left in the middle of the parking lot with the keys inside. Vehicle towed by Taylor’s Wrecker Service.
• Fraud – Claywill Circle – In reference to Complainant reporting fraudulent activity with her credit card. Charges were made on the credit card in Greendale, Wisconsin. Report taken.
• West Creek circle – Reference anonymous complaint of abuse against elderly named female by her nephew. The nephew was interviewed and stated no physical abuse occurred as of yet. All ok on scene.
• Vehicle Accident- Hwy 78E/Spring Street- Two vehicle accident, no injuries. Gears report completed.
• Theft- Amber Trail – Reference theft of a Blink indoor camera from the residence of Complainant. Complainant stated the suspect stole her camera as payback because she took a dog to the pound after it was abandoned by suspect. On scene video footage was observed of suspect grabbing the blink camera. Warrants for theft by taking pending.
• Disabled Vehicle – Hwy 11/Hwy 78 West Exit -Officer observed a broken down vehicle. The vehicle was removed from the roadway. All okay.
• Dispute – Broad St – In reference to a named subject on location disputing with his wife. Multiple witnesses on location advised he had struck his wife in the face while in her vehicle. He then called 911 to meet with officers concerning the whereabouts of his hat and was subsequently placed under arrest.
• Alarm – Davis St.- Alarm activated, alarm company made contact with the residence and advised officers to disregard.
