MPD Reports: Catalytic converter stolen during car repair and slew of domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 19 – 25, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Meet With – Southview Dr.: Complainant advised her son had locked himself in his room. The door was opened so the young child could get out. 
  • Dispute – Pizza Hut. Complainant advised that a subject was causing a disturbance. He was advised not to return to the store. Subject was employed by the store manager and keeps showing up for training, but the store manager has not been there to start his training. Subject became upset stating that they keep calling him to work but not training him. Complainant advised that no one from the store has called him but request that until the store manager contacts him that he does not return to the store due to the disturbance that he has caused each time he does come in the store.
  • Wanted person – Lacy St; Subject was reported to be at this address. Homeowner denied consent to search.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. Two subjects on location having a verbal dispute after one subject lied about where he was during the day. Situation mediated. Report taken.
  • Warrant Service – Mill Creek Way. Reference to a subject on location with an active Failure to Appear warrant. He was taken into custody and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Civil Matter – Tanglewood Dr. in reference to complainant stating subject cut the catalytic converter off of his vehicle while working on it. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. – 76 gas station in reference to a W/M panhandling. Officers made contact with Drew Linthicum from California in front of Panera. He stated he was trying to get money for a bus ticket to get to North Carolina. He was sent on his way and told to stop.
  • Dispute – Ridge Rd. in reference to two subjects disputing. No visible marks and conflicting stories. Report taken.
  • Theft – W. Spring St. – Harry’s BP in reference to a gas drive-off. The female returned and paid for the gas. All okay.
  • Damage to Property – Alcovy St. – Monroe Golf and Country Club in reference to a Nissan Cube being struck by a golf ball while driving on Alcovy St. Report taken.
  • Agency Assist – Highway 78E at Charlotte Rowell in reference to assisting Walton County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop. All okay.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St. – Walmart. Subject arrested for shoplifting and issued a Criminal Trespass warning to stay away from Monroe Walmart for one year. She was fingerprinted and released on copy of the citation.
  • Burglary Report – Vine St. Complainant stated that he was in the process of moving out, while in the eviction process with his landlord. He returned to his trailer this date to find all his belongings removed from the residence with items missing. He was advised of remedies. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Towler St. – Subject got into a physical altercation with his brothers over his girlfriend’s infidelity. Charged on citation for Disorderly Conduct.
  • Meet with Officer – W. Spring St – Haven Inn in reference to individual requesting a room for the night. The subject was transported to the Monroe Motor Inn and FISH gave her a room.
  • Dispute – W. Marable St. in reference to two subjects being in a physical altercation over child custody issues. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Vine St. in reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects. No domestic relationship and parties agreed to separate for the evening. All ok.
  • Dispute – Hammond Park – Subject had a verbal argument with her boyfriend. They were advised to leave the park since the argument was over with.
  • Dispute – Maple Street in reference to male and female disputing over a broken window after locking him out of the residence. Male was advised of civil remedies and parties were separated.
