MPD Reports: Catfishing allegations, panic attack, parent not home when school bus arrived

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 9 – 15, 2018. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Suspicious Person, West Spring St., Piedmont Walton, reference to a white female on the property asking for cigarettes. Named female subject was on location from Ridgeview and not cooperating with staff. The subject was advised to stay put until transport could arrive to take her back to Ridgeview. All ok.
  • Domestic Dispute, East Marable St., Mathews Park, reference to a male and female verbally disputing. All ok.
  • Civil Issue, East Fambrough St., reference to damage inside the apartment. Two subjects advised they were sitting at the table in the kitchen when the ceiling fell on top of their heads. Both refused EMS. Report taken upon request.
  • Harassing Phone Calls, Baron Dr., the complainant advised of a black male catfishing her and other young girls on Facebook. She was afraid of the male showing up at her father’s residence in Monroe. Initial incident took place in Jackson County when the male tried to suspiciously get her to leave her residence with him. The complainant was referred to Jackson County SO.
  • Theft Report, Towler St. /Old Mill Run, reference to complainant stating a black male subject wearing maroon pants and shirt stole a worker’s bag from the job site. The victim of the theft declined a report. The area check was conducted with negative contact.
  • Welfare Check, West Spring St., Quality Foods in reference to a toddler with only a shirt and diaper on. All OK
  • EMS Assist, Custom Way, reference to difficulty breathing. The complainant was having a panic attack. She was transported to the hospital.
  • Juvenile Problem, Tanglewood Dr., reference to a fight that occurred on the school bus. The incident is going to be handled by the officer.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, Highway, reference to a dark blue Ford F150 failing to maintain lane. Officer followed the vehicle on Hwy 138. No violations were observed in the city.
  • Suspicious Vehicle, West Spring St /Carwood Dr., reference to a gold Audi. Officers had negative contact.
  • Dispute, Green St., reference to complainant disputing with her uncle. The uncle was gone when officers arrived.
  • Firearm Complaint, Vine St., Conestoga Mobile Home Park, reference to complainant stating named male subject threatened him with a firearm.
  • Verbal Dispute, Davis St., Anonymous caller advising subjects screaming in the area. Officers checked the area with negative contact with any disputes.
  • Unknown Law, Double Springs Church Rd., Monroe Area High School, reference to a child still on the school bus due to parents not being home. School bus later went back to residence and given to the mother.
  • Suspicious Person, East Spring St., reference to a subject on top of the storage unit, possibly breaking into a unit. Contact made with subjects with Atlanta Technical Support who was installing new cameras. Everything ok.
  • Harassing calls, Kelton Rd., reference to complainant reporting the father of her children calling her multiple times from different numbers in spite of their no-contact order.
