MPD Reports: Concern about grandmother’s suicide threats; adult and child steal drinks from residence; equipment violations result in charges for suspended licenses

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period July 25 – Aug. 1, 2024. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Juvenile problem – Walker Dr: In reference to the complainant requesting information on leaving her mother’s residence. Mother advised she wanted her daughter to move out due to her attitude. Remedies were advised to both parties.
• Suicide threats – Atha St: In reference to the complainant advising her grandmother was threatening to take pills to end her life. Contact was made with subject who advised she was depressed and no longer wanted to live. Turned over to EMS.
• Disturbing the peace – Davis St: In reference to the complainant advising of a large crowd in “the hole” and possible drug activity. The area was checked, and negative contact was made.
• Dispute Non-Violent – W Spring St; Urgent Care – In reference to a subject being upset about this location not offering a medical service. She became belligerent, yelling at staff, and left the location. Remedies advised.
• Missing Person – Blaine St @ MPD; In reference to complainant wanting to report her brother missing.
• Hit and Run – Bankers Blvd. The call was turned over to the traffic unit.
• Burglary – Jessica Way – Complainant had video of an adult male and a small child entering his home and stealing a case of drinks at about 1230 hours. Report taken.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – West Spring/Waffle House – Vehicle stopped for equipment violation. Driver was arrested for Driving while Suspended. Vehicle turned over to Taylor’s Wrecker Service.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – S Broad/Mears St – vehicle stopped for failing to dim bright lights and window tint. Driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license. She was fingerprinted and released on three citations from Monroe Police Dept.
• Firearms – Inheritance Park – In reference to shots fired, checked the area on foot and checked the area. Negative contact.
• Traffic Stop – Hwy 78 W at Cedar Ridge – Traffic stop for a move over violation. The driver did not have a valid driver’s license. The driver was arrested, fingerprinted and released on copy of two citations.
• Suspicious Person – E Spring St. – In reference to subject loitering and consuming an alcoholic beverage. Subject advised he had been waiting for the bus at Taylor’s and had left to consume his beverage. Subject was given verbal warnings and sent on his way.
• Criminal Trespass/Damage to property – Alcovy St. – In reference to damage to property of complainant’s Nissan Altima. A limb was on top of the vehicle. Report taken.
