MPD Reports: Dirt bike stolen, BMW reported stolen subsequently recovered in woods

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Sept. 19 – 26, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Shoplifting – Walmart. A woman was seen by store associate skip scanning items. Officer viewed camera footage and observed suspect taking items without paying. She was gone on when officers arrived. Warrant taken. 
  • Theft of Vehicle Report – Unisia Dr.; Walmart Distribution – Complainant reported her 2018 BMW X1 stolen from Walmart distribution center parking lot. The vehicle was recovered around 1240 on 9/20/19 by Walton County Sheriffs’ office in the woods.
  • Domestic Dispute – 5th St. – In reference to two subjects disputing. Report taken.
  • Hit and run – Walmart. Occurred while leaving the parking lot, minor damage. Report taken. The suspect was last seen driving down 138 into Walton County.
  • Stolen Motorcycle – Vine St. Complainant stated that his son’s (Apollo RFZ) dirt bike was taken over the nighttime hours. Report taken.
  • Civil matter – Complainant wanted her son kicked out of the house, she was advised that she would have to have him evicted.
  • Dispute – Meadow Walk Dr. in reference to an 80-year-old grandmother with dementia causing a scene. Spoke with grandmother and situation mediated. All ok
  • Fight – Lacy St.; Numerous subjects on location all disbursed upon Officer arrival Evidence showed a fight had occurred, however, nobody came forth as a victim and witnesses refused to provide sufficient information to conduct an investigation.
  • Unknown Law – W. Spring St. -WALMART- in reference to female slumped over wheel. Made contact with homeless female who was sleeping. All ok.
  • DUI – N. Broad @ Tanglewood; Subject was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop.
  • Fight – located GW Carver between three subjects. Report was taken.
  • Juvenile problem – E. Church St.; Mother reported her 10-year-old son was being unruly. Situation mediated, a juvenile complaint was offered and denied.
  • Traffic Stop – Pine Crest Dr. Subject stopped for equipment violations and subsequently arrested for driving with no license and released on Citations after fingerprinting.
  • Civil Issue – 5th St. in reference to a couple having issues with divorce. Options were advised. Report taken.
  • Party – E. Church St. Mother had a birthday for her 16-year-old daughter. Crowd was dispersed.
  • Suicide Threats – Oak Rdg; In reference to subject allegedly making suicidal threats via text. The subject was asleep when Officers arrived and stated he was highly intoxicated earlier and could have unknowingly made the threats. Subject stated he did not want to hurt himself and denied any treatment or assistance.
  • Firearms – Tall Oaks; In reference to firearms being discharged on Barron Dr. Negative contact with any gunshots in the area.
  • Firearms – Tanglewood; In reference to firearms being discharged in the area. Negative contact with any gunshots in the area.
  • Illegal parking – Aycock Ave; In reference to an 18-wheeler parked in the wrong side of the roadway beside another 18 wheeler completely blocking the roadway. Investigation revealed the plates on the 18-wheeler were affixed to conceal the identity of the vehicle. The driver was cited for improper parking / stopping on the roadway, expired tag, suspended registration, and affixing license plate to conceal the identity of the motor vehicle. Vehicle was towed from the scene by Taylors.
  • Follow Up – Tanglewood Dr. – In reference to finding bullets from shots fired. Spoke with the complainant who said she did not call the police and did not find any bullets.
