MPD Reports: Disputes over loud music, phone and woman screams during panic attack

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period April 16 – 23, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Civil Issue – W. Spring St., Haven Inn. Civil issue regarding money over a pet deposit, situation mediated. 
  • Stolen Vehicle – Pine Park St. Vehicle had been Repossessed. Female was advised it was a civil issue.
  • Hit and run – Green St. Unknown red vehicle driven by unknown black male struck a car that was parked in the yard and then fled. Report Taken.
  • Civil Issue – Walton Road. A suject was removed from employment in November of 2019. After being incarcerated in the meantime he arrived to pick up tools. He was allowed to retrieve some items and advised of civil process for other items.
  • Assault – Booth Dr. Complainant advised that her boyfriend attacked her. Due to lack of witnesses and evidence, no charges were taken. Warrant process was explained.
  • Suspicious Person – Breedlove Dr (Medlink) – complainant advised subject was on location possibly trying to gain entry to location. All doors and windows were secure. Subject was gone upon officer arrival.
  • Dispute – Nowell- In reference to complainant having a dispute with her neighbor and her husband about them playing their music too loud. Both parties advised that they did have a verbal confrontation but agreed to leave each other alone.
  • EMS Assist – Shamrock Dr. In reference to subject unconscious. Upon officer arrival subject had a pulse. Subject was turned over to EMS.
  • 911 Hang Up – Creek View Dr. – In reference to subject having a dispute with her former boyfriend. Subject stated that he came to her house and began to argue with her and tried to take her phone and then left. Subject said that she did not want him around her anymore. Subject was advised how to take a Temporary Protection Order out on him.
  • Suspicious Person – Court St. – In reference to subject wanting to camp on a park bench in front of the Pocket park. Subject was asked to leave but refused. Subject was given a ticket for loitering.
  • Follow Up – Green St.- A vehicle belonging to Moses Tidwell was located in the area. Contact was made at the residence. Mr. Tidwell attempted to jump out of the back window. Entry was made into the residence and Mr. Tidwell was taken into custody. Supplemental added to the original report.
  • Civil Issue – Booth Dr. Complainant reported her dog ran over while in the roadway off leash by a white passenger car.
  • Follow up – Harris St. in reference to the complainant located a bullet from a shooting. Criminal Investigation Division notified and responded.
  • Illegal Dumping – Booth Dr. – Complainant called in reference to several incidents of illegal dumping of tires and other trash. Report taken
  • Fraud – S. Broad St. in reference to a male attempting to cash a fraudulent check in the amount of $2200.00. He was arrested for Deposit Account Fraud.
  • Dispute – Sorrells St. in reference to the complainant witnessed a dispute at the above address. Couple stated that she was having a panic attack and was screaming while she was outside.
  • Suspicious Vehicle -Walmart -Reference to a vehicle driving recklessly, Turned over to WCSO, no units available.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – E. Church St./Hammond Dr. -Vehicle was stopped for a seatbelt violations. Probable cause search conducted, a quantity of marijuana and a stolen 9mm handgun were located.
