MPD Reports: Domestic disputes involving juveniles; patient calls to report herself missing and other mental health issues

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 23 – 29 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into three parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Motorist Assist) Sorrells St – Vehicle ran out of gas; stood by until vehicle was removed from the roadway.
  • Fire Assist – Pine Cir – In reference to a blown fuse box which was smoking inside the residence. Turned over to Monroe Fire.
  • Suspicious Person – N Midland Ave – Caller advised a male subject in all black walking around vehicles, no contact with any subjects in the area.
  • Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy – Ross Dress for Less – Business checked, all okay.
  • Alarm – E Church St – Chevron – Business secured.
  • Firearms Discharge – Meadow Walk Dr.- Report of multiple gunshots heard in the area, the area was checked without any further shots being heard.
  • Suspicious Person – E Spring St; Bulldog Tires – In reference to a white male walking in the middle of the road. The subject was identified and transported to Monroe Motor Inn at his request.
  • Stolen Vehicle – Carwood Drive – In reference to a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located by a GPS tracking system provided by the lien holder. The vehicle was towed to MPD for processing at a later date. Report taken and C.I.D. was notified.
  • Unsecure Premise – Lacy St – Home owner on location advised door opened possibly due to wind and a broken lock.
  • Juvenile Comp – Baker St – In reference to complainant stating her daughter was being disrespectful. Situation mediated.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – North Broad Street / Nowell Street – Vehicle stopped for equipment violation. Passenger was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants out of Walton County. He was arrested and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office Jail without incident.
  • Wanted Person – W Spring Street: Walmart – Female subject located in the parking lot and taken into custody on an active warrant out of WCSO. Transported to the WCSO jail without issue.
  • Warrant Service – G.W. Carver Dr.- In reference to taking a wanted female into custody. The female was taken into custody without incident.
  • Accident – East Church – In reference to a two vehicle private property accident with no reported injuries. GEARS report taken.
  • Civil Issue – S Broad St; Dollar General – In reference to complainant needing information on property retrieval. He was provided remedies and directed to the WCSO Civil division for further assistance.
  • Domestic – Tanglewood Drive – Dispute between two parties. Both parties separated and advised remedies. Report taken.
  • Animal Complaint – Custom Way – In reference to a subject shooting a dog. Turned over to the nightshift.
  • Exploitation – 140 Blaine St. Lobby report – Complainant said that his 10-year old daughter was coerced to send nude videos and photos of herself to an unknown male subject she met online while playing the video game (Roblox). The IPad that she was using to communicate with the male subject was logged on Monroe PD property receipt and turned over to Det. Xiong.
  • Injured animal – Custom Way. In reference to subject shooting an aggressive neighbor’s K-9, which was attacking him. The scene was turned over to Animal Control.
  • Vehicle Unlock – Dean St – Unlocked with no damage.
  • Domestic dispute – Green St – In reference to subject striking his grandmother. Grandmother chose not to state her side of the story, though subject stated he did strike her out of reflex. Through a GCIC inquiry, it showed subject to have previous mental health issues. Subject was then transported to Advantage Athens on a 1013 form for an evaluation without issue.
  • Juvenile Complaint – King St – In reference to the juvenile knocking on doors, yelling, and not returning to her residence. Juvenile complaint was completed for simple battery and interference with government property.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – West Spring Street, Farmers Home Furniture- In reference to a Nissan left parked in the middle of the Farmers Home Furniture parking lot. Attempts to contact the registered owner were unsuccessful. The vehicle was not reported stolen. A perimeter check of the building was conducted, and everything appeared to be okay. No further action taken.
  • Alarm – W Spring Street – Entry exit grooming room door alarm, all windows and doors secure. No signs of forced entry.
  • Traffic Light – Charlotte Rowell Blvd; In reference to power out and 3 traffic signals non- functional.
  • Business Alarm – Pavilion Pkwy; Hibbett Sports – Bathroom motion alarm. The building was secure. Second alarm this week.
  • Mental Patient – East Spring Street: Monroe Motor Inn – In reference to subject on location requesting assistance. Upon officer’s arrival, Walton County EMS advised they were ok and did not need law enforcement assistance.
  • Assisted Motorist – W Spring Street – Vehicle broken down in the roadway. It was pushed into the parking lot.
  • Vehicle Lockout – West Spring St @ Panera; Upon arrival established contact with subject. Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
  • Hit and Run – West Spring St @ Piedmont Physicians – In reference to a two vehicle accident. GEARS report taken.
  • Dispute – N. Broad St: Al’s Tires. In reference to a civil dispute between a customer and store owner over tires. Prior to the officer’s arrival the parties reached a civil agreement. No law enforcement action taken.
  • Missing Person – 140 Blaine St: Monroe PD – Contact was made with the complainant who is reporting her daughter as a runaway juvenile. Report taken.
  • Stolen Vehicle/Recovered Vehicle – MLK Jr Blvd: Valero – In reference to a vehicle being reported stolen from the gas pump. The vehicle was located in the ditch across from the gas pump. Taylor’s Wrecker requested per owner to retrieve the vehicle.
  • Welfare Check – Creek View Dr – In reference to an employer requesting a welfare check at the above location for an employee that they have not heard from. It was determined that the subject in question was currently in the Walton County jail. Contact was made with the Walton County jail and staff confirmed he is currently in custody.
  • Civil Issue – Magnolia Ter – In reference to a civil matter between three subjects over one’s residency at the address. Remedies advised.
  • Suspicious Person – MLK Jr Blvd – In reference to a report of a homeless person in the area. Contact was made with subject who advised he had been sleeping behind Waffle House in the wood line. The F.I.S.H was contacted and the individual was given a hotel room at the Monroe Motor Inn until 02/02/26 therefore arrangements can be made.
  • Damage to Property – Michael Cir. – In reference to the complainant stating that her fence was damaged while she was out of town. Report Taken.
  • Obstructed Roadway – Highway 78 / Highway 138 – In regards to a truck bed liner in the roadway. Obstruction was cleared.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – G W Carver – Vehicle stopped for suspicious of window tint. Passenger fled from the vehicle on foot while attempting to discard narcotics and resisted arrest. Passenger was arrested and charged with Obstruction, Poss. of Sch. l and Poss. of Misd. Marijuana. He was transported to Piedmont Walton for his injuries then taken to the WCSO Jail.
  • Other Law – S Broad St at 6th St. – In reference to the male patient from previous call. The patient was located and transported back to Ridgeview institute without incident.
  • Damage to Property – MLK Jr Blvd – In reference to debris coming from a GDOT truck striking the caller’s vehicle. Report taken.
  • Other Law – Breedlove Dr; Ridgeview – In reference to subject calling from a phone inside Ridgeview to report herself missing. Subject is a mental patient. All okay on location.
  • Alarm – Hubbard St – All doors and windows appeared secure.
  • Private Property Crash – Pavilion Pkwy; Publix- Two vehicle private property crash with no injuries. Report in GEARS.
  • Welfare Check – Reed Way – In regards to APS requesting a welfare check on subject who may be being abused by her son. Contact made with subject who advised everything was okay.
  • Welfare Check – Mill Stone Bluff – In reference to complainant calling about her son who was having a mental breakdown. I spoke with the subject who advised that he had a misunderstanding with his mother and that everything was okay. Subject declined going to Piedmont Walton for a voluntary admission. Other remedies were advised to his mother.
