MPD Reports: Domestic disputes within families, between neighbors and crowds dispersed

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 26 to April 2, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Burglary Report – Wheelhouse Lane Complainant reported her back door forcibly entered, and Play station 4 and 32′ TV taken. Report taken. 
  • Follow up – E. 5th St. Complainant claimed his roommate pushed him during an argument. Roommate claimed the complainant pushed him. Both parties were separated.
  • Gathering – Lacy St. at Pine Park St. – In reference to large gatherings on street. All parties advised of city ordinance.
  • Welfare Check – Ridgeview. Complainant requesting police check on her brother at Ridgeview in reference to him stating he was assaulted. Handled via phone.
  • Meet with – Walton County Sheriff Office; Suspect from earlier shooting went to the Sheriff’s Office to apply for a TPO. The suspect was interviewed by CID and arrested.
  • Loitering – Deer Acres Inn. Management complaining of subject staying past checkout. She was transported to Monroe Motor Inn and put up for the night by FISH.
  • Disturbing the peace – Matthews Park. In reference to large group in park. Group on location dispersed.
  • Suspicious Person – MPD. The complainant stated that she was followed by a subject in a grey Buick SUV. She was advised that no crime had been committed, but it would be documented.
  • Suspicious Person – Applebees. In reference to someone sleeping under an awning in the back lot. The suspect was sent on his way without incident.
  • Domestic Dispute – Gatewood way. In reference to a subject on location attempting to get belongings out of fiancé’s car. Items returned to the subject. The subject left the residence.
  • Juvenile Complaint – S. Madison Ave. A subject was on location after running away from home. Spoke with child and mother, mother took the son to Piedmont Walton for a mental evaluation.
  • Juvenile issue – S. Madison and Davis St. in reference to a subject causing a scene. He was turned over to Parent and referred to the ER or mental evaluation.
  • Dispute – Piedmont Walton. In reference to earlier juvenile call. The subject was informed of the mental evaluation process and admitted for a psych evaluation.
  • Suspicious Person – McDonald’s. In reference to someone sleeping outside the restaurant. The subject identified as the same person from Applebees earlier. The subject was sent on his way.
  • Suspicious vehicle – Bold Springs Ave. Reference to Black 4 door sedan parked in front of a residence. Once on location, the complainant advised that the occupants of the vehicle had permission to be on location.
  • Domestic Dispute – Lanius Ave.: In reference to a domestic violence call. Kevon Darden was placed under arrest for simple assault.
  • Assault – Tanglewood Dr. Complainant wanting to report threats made against her. No assault occurred.
  • Dispute – Wheel House Lane: verbal dispute in reference to a civil matter. Issue resolved peacefully prior to officers’ arrival.
  • Damage to property – Lacy St. Complainant claimed someone broke his kitchen windows and needed a report.
  • EMS Assist – Highway 138; Great Oaks: In reference to a medical call for a fall. Canceled per EMS.
  • Juvenile complaint – Belle Made Rd in reference to four juveniles fishing at a lake.
  • Dispute – W. Fambrough St. in reference to a male resident subject refusing to let female resident in residence to retrieve her property.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Railroad tracks near Atha St; Subject found her vehicle parked on the railroad tracks after her boyfriend took it from the residence. The vehicle was left on the location for the subject to retrieve at a later date.
  • Mental patient – Atha St.; Joseph Whitlow was having a mental health episode. Joseph was paranoid but was alert and oriented x4 and refused to be transported to the Hospital.
  • Wanted Person – S. Broad St. Caller advised that a subject who MPD was looking for was on location. Officers arrived and located Mathew, he was arrested for his 15 outstanding warrants and transported to the Walton County jail.
  • Domestic dispute – Booth Dr. Reference to a subject throwing a mattress at his girlfriend’s mother during a dispute. He arrested for Simple Assault / Family Violence and terrorist threats.
  • Domestic Dispute – Launius Ave. In reference to Caley Jackson being intoxicated and physically abusive to Heather Dempsey. Caley Jackson was arrested for simple battery family violence
  • Dispute – Atha St; Two parties were involved in a dispute. One of them is a mental health patient and appeared to be under the influence of illegal drugs. Situation mediated.
  • Agency assist – Wheel House Ln. Animal control on location requesting PD. All ok
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. Subject loitering on location. He was asked to leave and did so.
  • Illegal parking – Perry St. near Launius Ave. Vehicles parked on Launius Ave. belonged to a residence on Perry St and were moved.
  • Theft report – Maple St. Reference a stolen Catalytic Converter on a church van. Report Taken
  • Civil Issue – W. Spring St. Civil Issue between management and power line company over damage to the parking lot. Report taken.
  • EMS Assist – W. Spring St. Employee collapsed while working. Turned over to EMS for a head laceration and shallow breathing.
  • Theft Report – S. Madison Ave., in reference to his license and phone missing. The report will be made. A case card was given.
  • Civil Issue – Glen Iris Dr. Landlord had questions about removing the tenant at his residence, Options were advised.
  • Threats – Lawrence St. Verbal dispute between neighbors. Both parties agreed to stop communication for the night. It was determined that no threats were made. Situation mediated.
  • Illegal Parking – Perry St. Vehicles were moved from the roadway after a brief dispute with law enforcement. One subject cited for disorderly conduct.
  • Discharging Firearms – In the area of Wheel House Ln. Area checked, negative contact.
  • Discharging Firearms – Perry St. Circulated area. Nothing seen or heard.
  • Runaway Juvenile – Ridge Rd. The juvenile was located at front of the complex. The juvenile was then transported to Piedmont Walton due to ingesting a large amount of prescription medications.
  • Damage to Property – HWY 78; Walton Truck Stop. In reference to a brief verbal dispute between two subjects. One subject kicked and caused damage to another subject’s vehicle. Warrants taken.
  • Dispute Nonviolent – Piedmont Walton. Upon arrival, hospital staff advised law enforcement was no longer needed. All OK.
  • Other Law – S. Broad St.; MPD. In reference to complainant wanted to report that her stepbrother purposely left popcorn cooking on the stove during the night and left the residence. Then step-brother came back to the residence and poured a bucket of water on her. The complainant was advised of remedies. Report Taken. Call handled by phone.
