MPD Reports: Driver arrested for a suspended license after being stopped for driving into oncoming traffic; husband arrested for spitting in the face of his wife

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb 20 – 26, 2026. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the fourth part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

• Dispute – Davis St – In reference to a verbal dispute between two subjects. Parties agreed to separate for the night.
• Vehicle Unlock – N Broad St; Waffle House- Vehicle unable to be unlocked due to car battery being dead.
• Prowler – Windsor Dr – In reference to the complainant hearing someone at her window. The residence was checked on foot; all appeared ok.
• Alarm – MLK Jr Blvd; Tractor Supply – All doors and windows secured.
• Alarm – Wellington Dr – No contact inside the residence, exterior was secured. Monroe Police Department
• Church Alarm – S Broad St; Alarm was caused by vendor conducting a delivery. All ok on scene.
• Alarm – W Spring Street: Sake Express – Building was secure, on-going issue with false alarm.
• Transport – W Spring St; Piedmont Walton – In reference to transporting subject from Piedmont Walton to home. She was transported with no issue.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Highway 138 / West Spring Street – In reference to a reckless driver. Negative contact.
• Suspicious Vehicle – Highway 138 / West Spring Street – In reference to a vehicle going into oncoming traffic. The vehicle was located and the driver was arrested by Walton County Sheriff’s Office for Driving on a Suspended License.
• Vehicle unlock – N.Broad St – Reference Lincoln SUV. Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Traffic Control – W Spring Street – Traffic stopped while loading disabled vehicle.
• Vehicle unlock – N.Broad St – Reference Dodge Journey. Vehicle unlocked, no damage.
• Suspicious Person – N Midland Ave. Monroe Pizzeria – In reference to a female subject sleeping at the bar while intoxicated. She was arrested and transported to the Walton County Jail. Report and warrants taken.
• Vehicle Unlock – E Fambrough St- Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Other Law – E 5th – Report taken in reference to threat made to a school in Walton County. WCSO SRO was notified.
• Civil Issue – Reed Pl – Reference complaint over items bought that were broken. Civil remedies were advised.
• Trailer Inspection – Carwood Dr. Paperwork completed.
• Private Property Crash – MLK Jr Blvd; Zaxby’s- Ford vs Ford in drive thru. No injuries. Report in GEARS.
• Locked Vehicle – Great Oaks Dr. – Vehicle unlocked, no damage observed.
• Suspicious Person – North Broad St, St. Albans Church- In reference to subject on location requesting medical services due to him being “off his meds”. Turned over to EMS.
• Welfare Check – Meadows Farm Way – In reference to making contact with a subject who had allegedly made suicidal threats. Contact made.
• Harassment – GW Carver Dr – In reference to complainant stating an individual she befriended online started to harass her and threaten to leak fabricated explicit photos of complainant. The only information complainant was able to provide was subject is from Texas, and subject’s Instagram and phone number. Complainant was given a case card and advised of remedies due to the little information we had on the suspect.
• Burglary Attempt – Buckingham Ct- In reference to the complainant advising that she heard someone shaking on her back door handle, she stated that she was unable to get a visual on the subject. Area checks conducted throughout the neighborhood, negative contact.
• Suspicious Person – W Spring St; Marathon – In reference to the complainant advising of a black male inside the store refusing to leave. Contact was made with subject, who advised he was released from jail approximately an hour prior to our arrival. Subject was advised he could not loiter inside businesses or around closed businesses and was sent on his way without incident.
• Suspicious person – W Spring St; Haven Inn – In reference to a named subject sleeping in the stairwell and then locking himself in the bathroom after being told to leave. He was placed under arrest and transported to the WCSO jail for loitering. Report taken.
• MVC with Deer – Walton Rd: Single vehicle accident with no injuries. Report taken.
• Vehicle Collision – HWY 78 at Unisia Dr. Two vehicles with no injuries were reported on scene. Report in GEARS.
• Domestic Dispute – Rosewood Ln- Complainant reported her husband spit in her face. The incident was video-recorded, and warrants were obtained for husband on simple battery charges.
• Wanted Person – Barrow County Jail – Subject picked up from the Barrow Co. Jail and transported to Walton Co. Jail on City warrants.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Hwy 78 E/Baker St- Vehicle was stopped for a moving violation. The driver was taken into custody for driving while license suspended and speeding.
• Accident – W Spring St; Bank of America – Two vehicle accident with no injuries. GEARS to be completed.
• Dispute – Walker Drive – In reference to three juveniles arriving on location to fight the caller’s son leading to a dispute. All subjects were located and trespassed from the property. Report taken.
• Other Law – Radford St. – In reference to a Lexus parked in the driveway with an unsecured door. Contact was made with the registered owner and all was to be determined ok.
• Traffic Stop/ Arrest – McDaniel Street- Vehicle was stopped for a moving violation. Female subject was taken into custody on outstanding warrants out of Walton County and Gwinnett County.
• Vehicle Unlock – Davis St. – Vehicle unlocked with no damage.
• Vehicle Crash – LongHorns- Two vehicles, no injuries. GEARS report.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – W Spring Street / Monroe Library – Vehicle stopped for traffic violation. Passenger was arrested for a warrant out of Gordon County for Violation Of Probation. Transported to WCSO Jail without incident.
• Traffic Stop – Saint Albans Church, Female subject was stopped for a hands free violation, she also had a suspended license. She was arrested and taken to Monroe PD for processing then released on copy of citation
• Traffic Crash – Bold Springs Rd- Crash occurred at Texaco at Highway 81 and Bold Springs Rd. Turned over to WCSO.
• Traffic Stop/Arrest – Hwy 78 at Unisia Dr; Walton Inn – Vehicle stopped for equipment violation. Taken into custody for warrant out of Clayton Co.
• Dispute – Davis Street – In reference to a civil dispute between spouses over property. Remedies were advised.
• Traffic Stop – Male subject was stopped for driving in the gore violation. He does not have a valid license. He was arrested and taken to Monroe PD for processing and released on copy of citation.
