The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 11 – 18, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split info five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Animal Bite – Cook Pl. Juvenile bit by neighbor’s dog. Animal control was notified. Report taken.
Theft Report – McDaniel St someone stealing a tv from the porch of the residence. Complainant advised he just wanted to make police aware of the incident. Nothing further.
Traffic Stop – S Broad St at Atha St. Vehicle was stopped for brake light violation. After investigation the driver Michael Colella was taken into custody for OCGA 40-5-121 DWLS. Mr. Colella was fingerprinted and released on copy of citation.
Violent Dispute – Tall Oaks W. In ref to a female advising that she stabbed her boyfriend with a knife to get him off of her. A violent dispute did occur by visible wounds and evidence. Both parties Lacorion Atkinson and Anteria Diggs were uncooperative, denied altercation, and refused to identify themselves. Mr. Atkinson and Ms. Diggs were both taken into custody for obstruction. Both parties were transported to the WCSO jail without further incident.
Dispute – West Spring St – Huddle House in reference to a dispute between staff and several subjects over food and payments. Situation mediated.
Dispute – W Spring St. Piedmont Walton. In reference to a mental evaluation patient being irate and agitated. Hospital staff advised that they just needed to give the patient some medication. Medication was given to the patient via medical staff. All ok.
Other Law – N. Broad Street; City Hall. Officers noticed this morning that an unknown person had put bubbles into the fountain at city hall. Public works notified and responded.
Dispute – Cherokee Avenue. In reference to the complainant advising that their boyfriend took their car keys and is refusing to give them back or allow the complainant to leave the residence. Parties were separated. All ok.
Dispute – W Spring St. Quality Foods. In reference to a dispute between two parties. Parties separated and Tara given a room at Haven Inn by FISH.
Vehicle accident – Turner St. Driver struck an unoccupied vehicle. Driver fled the scene prior to Officer arrival. Moments later the registered owner, Royd Stokes, reported his vehicle stolen. He did not give his location. Officers were able to locate Mr. Stoke and it was determined he was the driver of the vehicle. He was taken into custody. Multiple warrants were taken.
