MPD Reports: DUI charges, counterfeit money and threats in the mail

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 31, 2020 to Jan. 7, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Other Law – Birch St in reference to a man calling about his daughter being held against her will in Covington. Daughter showed while on scene with the subject who was arrested for driving under the influence. 

Threats – Knight St Lot 15. Reference to complainant stating that he had received threats to his residence in the mail. report taken. 

Domestic Dispute – Southview Dr. Reference to complainant stating that he had been attacked by a subject and his ex-wife. Report taken. 

Dispute – East Church St (Chestnut Cupboard) Complainant stated she received a counterfeit $5.00 bill. The unknown male subject was gone when officers arrived. The bill was unable to be secured at this time due to being placed in the safe prior to our arrival. 

Hit & Run – HWY 138 in reference to a black infinity collided into a Honda Accord and left the scene. After the investigation the suspect was identified as vehicle # 1 and was given a citation. 

Mental Patient – West Spring Street (Piedmont Physicians): In reference to a man trying to set a vehicle on fire. He was taken by POV to Ridgeview Medical Facility and turned over to to Ridgeview medical staff. 

Found Property – New Lacy Street Officer located a small purse and was able to make contact with the owner. The purse was returned. 

Traffic Offense -S Broad & Walker St in reference to a silver jeep stopped for no tag light. Thomas Kennedy was arrested for DUI and driving on suspended license.
