MPD Reports: EMS assist required in drug overdoses, TVs and playstation stolen in burglary,

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 14 – 21, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – W. Spring – Family Dollar. Subject disputing with an employee over possible theft accusations. Parties separated. 
  • Wanted Person – Alcovy St. – Georgia Probation Management. A subject on location with a probation violation warrant. She was arrested and taken to the Walton County Jail.
  • Theft – Glenwood Drive. The complainant stated her express card was stolen. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – Community Ct – Boys and Girls Club. Complainant reported damage to the front of his vehicle that occurred sometime between 11/12/19 and 11/14/2019. Report taken
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. – Rite Aid. The subject found lying behind the building. The subject was homeless and was advised of remedies.
  • Civil Dispute – Belle Meade Rd. in reference to a dispute over payment regarding painting between two subjects. The situation was mediated.
  • Suspicious Activity – King St. / Perry St. – In reference to complainant requesting extra patrol in the area due to her daughter seeing a male subject dressed in all black standing in the wood line. The incident occurred at approximately 0620 this date while the daughter was at the bus stop.
  • Dispute – Wheel House Lane – A subject and his son got into an argument due to son coming home late. The subject was physically disciplining his son, leaving visible marks on his legs and facial area. He was arrested for Battery Family Violence and cruelty to children. Report taken
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. (Big Lots): Met with a subject who was loading plywood on top of his van behind a business. He stated that he was told by business personnel that he could have it. The subject was told to come back during daylight hours.
  • Suspicious Person – W. Spring St. (Wal-Mart): Complainant just wanted Law Enforcement to be aware of the person trying to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. The complainant provided a Ga Tag #. The other party was gone on arrival.
  • Theft – Hwy 78 – Waffle House in reference to two black males not paying for their bill. Unable to locate those subjects, Waffle House did not wish to prosecute.
  • Fraud – W. Spring St. (Family Dollar): Complainant stated that fraudulent activity happened with gift cards over the phone. Report taken.
  • Suspicious person – Hwy 138. The complainant called 911 because someone witnessed a white male take pictures of her kid and the playground. After running the suspects’ information it came back to the Walton County Board of Health.
  • Dispute – Ridge Rd. The complainant stated that her boyfriend got upset due to her finding out that he was cheating on her. The boyfriend was gone on arrival; the Situation was mediated.
  • EMS Assist – Turner St. in reference to a male on location took too much medication was turned over to EMS.
  • Dispute – S. Broad Street in reference to a dispute over the civil eviction process. Options explained and parties advised to follow up with the courts.
  • EMS assist – Reed Way. Female on location possible overdosing from Meth. Turned over to EMS.
  • Wanted Person – Gwinnett County Jail Picked up a subject that has a Failure to Appear warrant.
  • Burglary – Ridge Rd. Complainant called 911 because her residence was broken into last night. Two TVs and a PS4 Play-station were stolen.
