MPD Reports: Entering auto, skip scanning and domestic dispute

The City of Monroe Police reported the following incidents for the period Jan. 2 – 9, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Enter Auto – Boulevard. Reference to a Ford 150 and a Chevy Traverse being entered during the night. Nothing was taken. Report declined. Extra patrol requested during the night. 
  • Follow Up – Baron Dr. in reference to 17-year-old needing access to her residence since her mother will not let her in. Officer had negative contact with the mother on location. Officer made contact with Advantage who is leasing the residence. All okay.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St., Walmart. A subject was arrested for skip scanning. He was fingerprinted and released on a copy. He was also served with a criminal trespass warning.
  • Theft in progress – Green St. Located open window in back, residence cleared and re-secured. All ok, nothing appeared to be missing.
  • Dispute – Booth Dr. in reference to complainant wanting her boyfriend to leave. Situation mediated.
  • Child abuse X3 – Georgia Ave., DFACS. Children placed in foster care after abuse opened up and made new allegations.
  • Dispute – Reed Way. Reference to subject climbing through the window and verbally disputing with the complainant over property.
  • Harassment – MLK Jr. Blvd. The complainant stated that two subjects followed her around the Hwy 138 area this date after work and blowing the horn at her. She stated they live in Loganville. She advised last date she had honked the horn at them because they were blocking an intersection on a green light, then they cut her off on Hwy 138; and now they are intentionally following her in Monroe. The complainant was advised to contact the police if the situation became more of a pattern. All okay.
  • Request to meet – Alcovy St., Excellent Pediatrics. The complainant stated that the doctors’ office advised her that her ex-husband was on location. She stated there is a current court order in place in reference to him being around their children. The subject was gone upon arrival.
  • Firearms – Elizabeth Dr./ Tanglewood area. Gunshots heard in the area. The area was checked. No shots were heard in the area.
