MPD Reports: Extra patrol requested for games at Felker Park due to disruptive parents

The City of Monroe reported the following incidents for the period Oct. 24 – 31, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the second part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Juvenile complaint – Georgia Ave. Department of Family And Children Services in reference to 14-year-old striking a social worker. The juvenile was transported to Piedmont Walton for mental evaluation. 
  • Agency assist – Adamson Rd and W. Vine St. Ref to Walton County Sheriff’s Office K9 is in a foot chase with a subject. Perimeter set, area searched with negative contact.
  • Dispute – Chestnut Ln in reference to subject wanting his clothes from the residence and his mother-in-law not letting him in. Officers stood by as the subject collected his property.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St., Murphy USA. In reference to complainant wanting a subject trespassed from the business. The subject got upset and pushed a bowl of candy onto the floor while on location. She was issued a criminal trespass warning.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Felker Park – Silver passenger car. Advised driver the park closes at dusk.
  • Mental Patient – W. Creek Cir. – Subject on location upset about his day at work, situation mediated.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Walmart. The caller advised the vehicle was speeding and driving with its headlights off. The officer observed the vehicle parked and the vehicle did not leave while the Officer was on the scene.
  • Loitering – W. Spring St. at Marathon – A subject was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm.
  • Transport – Athens Clarke County – A subject was picked up and transported to Walton.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Bojangles. Caller stated a male driver was asleep in the driver seat. Officer made contact with the vehicle and attempted to wake up the driver. When the driver woke up and realized a Police Officer was at the window, he left the scene. After a short vehicle pursuit, the driver was taken into custody. He was charged with DUI, Fleeing and failure to maintain lane.
  • Dispute – N. Midland Ave. In reference to complainant stating her ex-boyfriend rode by her residence on a scooter. She advised that she chased him down the roadway. She stated he does not live with her and advised she does not want him at her residence. She was advised of remedies.
  • Burglary in progress – Davis St. Complainant advised former tenant removed the lock and entered the residence.
  • Disorderly conduct – S. Broad St., MPD. Complainant reports a young w/m spit in her vehicle while she was at Franks Stop n Shop.
  • Other Law – Sorrells St. in reference to a female locked out of her residence. She was advised to call a locksmith.
  • Other Law – Felker Park in reference to complainant requesting extra patrol for the next hour during a football game because of parents acting disorderly during the games in the past.
  • Fight – Plaza Dr. In reference to a fight occurring in the area. A secondary fight occurred during the first fight. Subjects from the first fight were gone on arrival. Three subjects were involved in the second fight as a result of ongoing issues. Verbal warning was given to everyone on location.
  • Dispute – W. Spring St., Wal-Mart in reference to subjects driving reckless on location. The vehicle was located in the county. Turned over to WCSO. The subject was arrested by WCSO for MPD entering auto warrant.
