MPD Reports: Facebook fraud, apartment broken into and concrete bag thrown through bedroom window

The City or Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 4 – 11, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Fraud – King Street: Complainant advised someone on Facebook asked her for her email and password so they could send her money. She provided the email and password, and the subject took over her Facebook page. The subject is messaging her friends asking for money under the complainant’s name. Report taken. 

Burglary – Tanglewood Dr: In reference to a subject throwing a solid concrete bag through her bedroom window. Report taken. 

Suspicious vehicle /person – Marable Street at Union Street in reference to a female got out of the vehicle and started walking off and looked like she was crying. The driver was transported to Piedmont Walton for mental evaluation. 

Missing Person – Bold Springs Avenue: Complainant advised his son left the residence around 1800 hours last date and has not returned. Subject placed on GCIC. 

Juvenile Complaint – Knight St (16 y/o) grabbing (10y/o) around the throat and threatening him. Witness statements collected. Juvenile Complaint filed. 

Traffic Offense – S Broad St & Davis St. Reference to a black Ford Crowne Vic stopped for having expired tag. Probable Cause search Conducted. Subject was arrested for possession of schedule II methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects. 

Suspicious Vehicle -Valero & N Broad in reference to a parked vehicle in the parking lot. The driver had an active warrant. She was transported to Walton County Jail. 

Other Law – King St. Reference to a subject being on location. Contact made with the subject who was arrested for warrants out of Walton County. 

Other Law – Breedlove Dr., Ridgeview Mental Health. Ref to hospital refusing to allow sister to pick up an un-discharged patient. Advised of remedies, all ok. 

Damage to Property – Overlook Crest. In reference to a mailbox being damaged by a black in-color vehicle. Report taken. 

Theft report – Barron Dr. Complainants’ apartment being broken into. Several items were missing, and the window and back door were broken. Report was made. 

Hit and run – Double Springs Church Rd., Monroe Area High School. Handled by School Resource Officer, all ok.
