MPD Reports: Family members arrested on other charges after man, angry at no WIFI, cuts himself

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 16 – 23, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Traffic Stop/Foot Chase – N Broad St. at Perry St. Officer observed tag #RQP9207 being driven by a man. Officer ran the tag through GCIC and the registered owner returned with an active warrant. The Officer initiated an investigative stop and the subject refused to stop the car. The driver fled from the vehicle and ran away on foot. After a brief foot chase, the driver was taken into custody for disorderly conduction and driving with no license.
  • Warrant Served – Hill St. Subject taken into custody for probation violation.  Transported to the WCSO and released to jail staff.
  • Shoplifting) at 2050 West Spring Street – Walmart. Subject was arrested for shoplifting. He was served with a Criminal Trespass warning. Michael was fingerprinted and released on a copy of the citation.
  • Suspicious Vehicle) at South Madison and Knight Street in reference to a male being pulled into an SUV GA tag #PBX6605 calling for help. Officers made contact with the vehicle and subjects. Thomas Jordan has mental issues and ran away from Exceptional Community Services. He was turned over to the employee.. All 10-4.
  • Burglary – Cook St. in reference to someone stealing a 55″ Samsung TV, one pair of Nike Shoes and a Nike hat.. The suspect (s) made forced entry through the back window.
  • Dispute/Civil Matter) at 124B Tanglewood Drive in reference to a complainant wanting two people removed from the residence. The eviction paperwork stated the subjects had until tomorrow’s date to leave the residence. All 10-4.
  • Theft Report) 310 Pine Park St . Complainant advised a juvenile nicknamed “Jay” stole her daughters white and blue Mongoose mountain bike. She asked for Officers to BOLO for the bike. Report declined at this time.
  • EMS Assist – S. Madison Ave. in reference to an unconscious female not breathing. Officers began CPR upon arrival. After several attempts of revival by Officers and EMS, the victim was pronounced deceased by suspected drug overdose. An order of marijuana was detected inside the residence.
  • Dispute) at 1450 S. Broad St. Southside MHP, lot 204. Reference to father arguing with his daughter. The father was advised daughter is 18-year-old and could leave the home if she wished, all ok.
  • Dispute – 6th St. in reference to daughter and her mother arguing and both claiming physical assault by the other. No witness and no evidence to find primary aggressor. Parties separated and report taken.
  • Dispute – Cedar Ln. Father and son got into a dispute, Father attempted to dial 911, the son took the phone and would not allow him to do so. The son was arrested. Report taken
  • Juvenile complaint – Nowell St. Apt 4 Reference to complainant’s daughter calling 911 because her mom took her phone.  She was advised to listen and do as her mother says.
  • Illegal Parking – E. Washington St. James Monroe Housing. Subject’s vehicle was towed for being parked in a handicap parking space. Vehicle TOT Taylors
  • Suspicious person – N. Broad St., Golden Pantry. Irate customer had his card declined. The friend of irate customer had an outstanding WCSO warrant.
  • Mental patient – W. Vine St., Conestoga MHP. Complainant advised his son, became irate due to not having Wifi and cut himself with a kitchen knife. Transported to Piedmont by EMS due to cuts, Warrant To Be Taken for Aggravated assault and Family Violence, Battery, transported to jail after hospital.  Mother was arrested for outstanding Gwinnett County warrant, Brother arrested for outstanding Auburn PD warrant.
