MPD Reports: Family violence suspect tased and arrested after he flees on foot

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 16 – 23, 2019. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Sexual Assault – Piedmont Walton.  A juvenile female was on scene and advised she was raped on May 4 in McDonough.  Officer made contact with the Henry County Police Department who advised the family can travel to the county line in order to make a report.  The mother of the juvenile was advised of this.
  • Shots Fired – W. 5th/Barrett St.  Caller stated they were unsure if it was gunshots, fireworks or a transformer.  Officer patrolled the area and it appeared to be a transformer due to the power being out.
  • Dispute – IHOP.  A subject was involved in a domestic dispute with her girlfriend at the establishment.  It was determined that no crime was committed.  The general manager asked that the subject be issued a criminal trespass warning.
  • Suspicious person – Sycamore Ct. Caller stated that her Ex and his new wife are camping in the woods behind her house. She did not provide further, conducted an area check without any contact.
  • Suspicious person – Birch St; In reference to a female having difficulty standing. Per the complainant, the female left the area before Officers arrived.
  • Traffic Control – at S. Broad Street in reference to assisting power company.
  • Suspicious vehicle – E. Spring; Complainant advised subject on location sleeping in a running vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and was arrested for driving under the influence and open container. The vehicle had fresh damage from striking a tree/bush and also some type of metal object. No crash site located.  Report taken.
  • Burglary – Pine Park St. Complainant stated between 1400 hours and now some broke into her house and stole her Xbox one. No sign of forced entry, no serial number for the Xbox at this time, report taken.
  • Dispute – Wheelhouse Lane.  Caller stated that a female was being dragged by her hair by a male.  Upon Officer arrival to the area a large party was taking place.  Officer patrolled the area on foot and shut the party down.  Dispatch advised the complainant was parked at the front of the complex.  Officer made contact with a vehicle which had the victim inside.  The victim was identified.  It was determined that her child’s father was the primary aggressor during a domestic dispute.  He was observed walking to the front of the complex.  While he was being taken into custody he pulled away and ran on foot.  During the pursuit he was tased and taken into custody.  He was charged with battery family violence and obstruction.
  • Disturbing the peace – Cloverdale Dr; No contact with anyone making a loud noise. 2nd complain received and subjects outside were dispersed.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – E. Marable St./Turner St.  Complainant advised a female was following her and the passenger was said to have warrants. Subjects were located on Booth Drive.  Jamal Cobb was located with 2 warrants.  Cobb was arrested and transported to Walton Co Jail.
  • Domestic – Tanglewood Dr:  Complainant said her husband, was upset at the clothing she was wearing and became physical throwing her to the ground leaving visible injury.  Warrant to be taken for Battery-Family Violence, Criminal Trespass, Interference with 911 Call
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St.: Kimberlee Alden on location drinking and stealing a mike’s hard lemonade ($1.59).  Alden and her boyfriend were located at Waffle House.  Management wanted Kimberlee trespassed from property.
  • Warrant – Covington PD: Jazzminn Aikens arrested for City of Monroe warrant.
  • Domestic – Towler St.: Complainant stated his ex-girlfriend was in an argument over cheating on him with her friend.  Parties separated, situation mediated. Report Taken.
  • Suspicious Person) Pinecrest/Holly Hill: In reference to subject in the area acting suspicious and possibly having some type of mental health issue.  Checked the area of Holly Hill and the wooded area with her significant other. Negative contact.  Subjects live at S. Madison Ave.
  • Burglary in progress – St Ives Walk – Complainant stated that a lady came into her residence and took items put them in a bag and ran out the back door. She was caught and identified as the person from the previous complaint. Victim wishes not to press charges due to getting all of her items back. Report Taken. Subject was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
