MPD Reports: Fatal accident, theft, domestic disputes and asleep in vehicles

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Nov. 26 – Dec. 3, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Fatality Accident/Agency Assist – HWY 78EB at Unisia Dr. Officers located the accident off the roadway on HWY 83 and Unisia Dr Single vehicle VS. tree. Subject was DOA. Officers assisted Fire, EMS, WCSO and GSP on scene. 

Suspicious Vehicle – East Washington Street (Post Office): In reference to an elderly couple asleep. Subjects were waiting at the Post Office for it to open. 

Found Property – Subject located a social security card in the parking lot Carmichael’s Pharmacy. The social security card belonged to someone who lost the card on 12/01/2020 in the parking lot. It was returned to card holder. 

Dispute – Breedlove Dr (Ridgeview) a voluntary patient having a violent outburst and hitting staff and damaging property. The patient was arrested for simple battery and criminal damage. 

Theft – Carver Place – Subject never received her package from Uggs. 

Threats – Birch Street Complainant wanted to make a report due to his ex-girlfriend was making threats towards his current girlfriend. 

Theft – West Spring Street (Wal-Mart) Employees called on a subject committing a theft while working. She was arrested for theft by taking. 

Suspicious Person – Wheelhouse Ln. a group of juveniles in the area refusing to leave the caller’s yard. Negative contact with the juveniles. The caller did not wish to meet. 

Juvenile – South Broad at Walker Street in reference to a 10-year-old juvenile wearing a red jacket throwing stuff at a residence in the area. Negative contact. 

Dispute – Master Drive Complainant wanted his ex-wife to move out of his residence after he allowed her to stay in the house over a month. 

Dispute – Green Street -Complainant called in reference to lease holder removing herself from the lease. Remedies advised. 

EMS Assist – East Spring Street Complainant called 911 several times telling dispatch she needed to go to the hospital. Upon arrival, complainant stated she thinks she needs to go to the hospital because she was drunk. Complainant changed her mind and Monroe Fire canceled EMS. 

EMS Assist – Monroe Area High School -Anonymous complainant called in reference to a Walton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy unresponsive in his vehicle. Contact made with the Deputy, he was alert and okay. Turned over to WCSO command staff. 

Dispute – W Creek Circle. Complainant stated her boyfriend assaulted her. No charges due to insufficient probable cause. 

Dispute – N Broad St (J&B Food Mart) in reference to subject trying to claim her winning from a slot 

Suspicious Person – Hwy 78 (Waffle House) Complainant stated a male was in the parking lot intoxicated. Contact was made with the driver who was subsequently arrested for DUI. 

Entering Auto – Wheel House Ln. Complainant stated she had a blue Ruger 9mm pistol stolen from her vehicle. She did not have a serial number or knowledge of where the gun was actually stolen. Report taken. 

Traffic Offense – Booth Dr & Morrow St. Traffic stop for Failure To Maintain Lane. Two subjects were arrested for Possession of schedule 2 and drug related objects. 

Dispute – Hill St in reference Husband verbally disputing with his wife. Parties separated.
