MPD Reports: Fight in Tanglewood and slew of domestic disputes

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 27, to March 5, 2020. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Dispute – Davis St. In reference to a dispute, between two subjects. One of the subject was arrested and transported to Walton County Sheriff’s Office. Warrant to be taken family violence battery. 
  • Meet with Officer – at Piedmont Walton in reference to a subject falling at Roses. Report taken
  • Juvenile Runaway – S. Broad St. Juvenile ran away from home after being grounded. Juvenile returned home. All ok
  • Criminal Trespass – N. Broad St; J & B Food Mart. Subject issued a criminal trespass warning for the store at the request of the clerk due to possibly drinking beer at the store.
  • Traffic Stop – Maple Way. Subject arrested and released on copy of citation for driving while unlicensed after being pulled over for tail light out.
  • Suspicious Vehicle -E. Church Street – In reference to big rigs traveling on the road when it’s a no truck route. Area was checked with negative contact.
  • Unsecured Premise – King St;. Compliant advised that she forgot to lock her front door before she went to work. Compliant asked Officers to clear her house. House cleared, all ok.
  • Dispute – Plaza Trace. In reference to two parties verbally arguing over child custody. Parties separated and situation mediated.
  • Dispute – Tall Oaks. In reference to 13-year-old being disrespectful to her stepmom because her stepmom took her phone. Juvenile was later transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation because of statements she made.
  • Follow Up – W. Marable. Subjects sitting inside of an abandoned van on a vacant lot. Subjects told to keep out of van and van locked. Officers then left the area due to fight call.
  • Fight – Tanglewood Dr. Report of subjects in the area fighting. Officers located several subjects standing around that did not want to admit who was fighting. All else appeared ok.
  • Shoplifting – E Marable Hot Spot. Black male taking items without paying. Subject gone on arrival. Area checked. Negative contact. Unable to identify the subject.
  • Dispute – New Lacy St. – In reference to a neighbor reporting that subject and her boyfriend were in a dispute. The subject denied anything happening and that the neighbor was lying. The subject denied anything happened as well.
  • Dispute – Dollar General. Witnesses advised a male and female disputing on location. Subject advised the dispute was verbal only, her boyfriend was gone on arrival. One subject refused to identify him.
  • Missing Juvenile – E. Marable St. & Union St. Juvenile was located walking on E Marable St and was turned over to the responsible party.
  • Suspicious Person – S. Broad – Subject was observed by Officer outside. Officer knew Mr. Pace had a warrant. He was taken into custody without incident. Supplemental report added to the original case.
  • Traffic Stop – W.t Marable & Nowell St. A traffic stop was conducted on a black suv driven by a subject who was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, violation of permit conditions and no tag light. Report taken
  • Dispute – Mtn View Dr. Verbal argument between two subjects. One subject left for the night
