MPD Reports: Fire allegedly started under trailer by juveniles, traffic stops result in drug charges

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Feb. 4 – 11, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the first part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

Area Check -W. Spring Street at Home Depot. In reference to a suspicious package on location in the parking lot. package was checked and it was a picnic basket sitting next to a buggy catcher. All ok. 

Arrest – Alcovy St. A subject was taken into custody for a parole warrant and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office jail without incident. Report made. 

Report – S.Broad St; MPD. an incident that occurred at GWA. Report was taken and TOT CID. 

Child Abuse – S. Broad Street; MPD. 3-year-old b/m stating his father was hurting his private area and hitting him. Report was taken Mother was advised remedies. 

Traffic Stop -Bankers Blvd and Michael Etchison. Female subject arrested for Possession of schedule 2 controlled substance after a report of a person in and out of their vehicle, possibly under the influence of drugs. 

Traffic Stop -S. Broad Street & Walker Dr. Vehicle was stopped for a brake light out. After investigation one subject was taken into custody for Brake Light violation, Poss. of Marijuana, and Poss of Meth. A second subject was taken into custody for Poss. of Marijuana, and Poss of Meth. Both subjects transported to the WCSO jail. Warrants taken. 

Juvenile Complaint – S. Broad Street. In reference to two juveniles lighting a fire under a trailer and running off. A witness advised it was a black male. Report taken and a Juvenile Complaint form was filed. 

Threats – Mill Stone Bluff In reference to the complainant’s son receiving threatening phone calls. Report taken for documentation. 

Dispute – E Fambrough St,. In reference to the complainant’s girlfriend on location. Complainant is requesting to get their belongings to leave the residence. Upon Officer arrival the complainant was gone. Report made in reference to information gathered from parties on scene. 

Hit and Run -Plaza Drive and West Spring Street. Complainant stated an older model full size truck was travelling west on Spring Street. Complainant did not see the vehicle due to it not having any headlights on and pulled out in front of it. Older model truck continued to drive off. Report taken. 

Hit and Run – N Broad Street (Sussies Wings): In reference to a rusty truck striking the complainant‘s vehicle and leaving the scene. Report made. 21M001764 

Dispute – Applewood Dr: In reference to Complainant having an argument with her brother and him damaging her personal property. Brother was gone when officers arrived. Report made. 

Dispute – Maple Ln: In reference to complainant who is a private investigator in the area was approached by a patron that was upset that she was in the area. The Other party was gone when officers arrived. All okay
