MPD Reports: Fleeing suspect ran into trees, wrecked when road unexpectedly ended

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period March 14 – 21, 2019.

  • Damage to Property – Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd – Mister Car Wash in reference to complainant reporting his vehicle was damage in the carwash. Report taken.
  • Animal Complaint – E. Marable St/N. Madison Ave: The dog was located at N. Madison Ave. and was acting aggressively. Two animal control units arrived.  Another dog in the fence pushed the rear door open to the house and Animal Control was able to secure the dogs inside the residence.
  • Entering Auto – Tall Oaks: Complainants’ vehicle was left unsecured and entered between 0300 hours and 0900 hours. Approximately $1650 items taken (welding supplies, boots, helmet, blue/black bag, wallet with personal information.  No serial numbers reported. Report taken.
  • Damage to Property – Ridge Road (Skyline Trace Apart.): Met with the manager of the Apartments. He stated that the glass front door to the office was damaged. Report Taken.
  • Warrant Alcovy Street: Warren Turner arrested on Probation Violation.
  • Illegal Dumping – Springdale Rd: Complainant stated that he was concerned about people dumping stuff on two other people’s property. All ok.
  • Overdose/EMS Assist – W. Spring St.: Subject who is taking a large amount of narcotics passed out in the chair before starting the dialysis. The staff was able to wake the subject and EMS was on scene.  Staff advised the subject would have to go to the hospital as they were not treating her today. Turned over to EMS.
  • Dispute – King St. – Ref: to a female being in a Domestic Dispute with her husband. During the dispute he kicked a vehicle. He was later arrested for Criminal Trespass Family Violence.
  • Lost Property – Alcovy St.: Citizen making report of lost wallet. Report taken.
  • Missing Person – Bridge Port Lane: Complainant stated that her husband was going to Savannah Ga. for an acting job. Left on Monday and has had no contact since then. Report Taken.
  • Theft – South Madison Avenue: Complainant stated that a subject came up and took some items from the complainant and then left the scene. Report Taken.
  • Shoplifting – N. Broad St.: Subject on scene possible shoplifting, store denied prosecution. Request subject be trespassed from the store. Report denied.
  • Threats – Nowell St. – Complainant advised her children were playing in the woods when they were approached by an adult who stated they would kill them. Complainant did not know who the adult was nor did she know the exact address they lived at.  She was able to give the area the adult came from.  Complainant did not wish to press charges she just wanted the adult warned.  Officer attempted to make contact with adults in the area she stated they came from.  No contact was made.
  • Dispute – Atha St. Complainant stated her sister has been living on location for 2 weeks and has not paid any bills. The complainant wanted to have her removed from the house. She was advised that she would have to have her evicted.
  • Agency assist -Walton County Sheriff’s Office in vehicle pursuit down Charlotte Rowell. Vehicle collided with trees behind Bojangles due to not knowing the road ended. Driver was arrested and GSP worked the accident portion of the scene.
  • Entering Auto – Eagle Trl – Kimberly Battle’s vehicle was forcefully entered.  A firearm and debit card were taken.  Report taken.
