MPD Reports: Graffiti painted on GWA property; burglaries, disputes and fight calls

The following are the incidents reported by the Monroe Police Department between June 23 – 29, 2017. Due to the length, this report has been split into four parts. This is the final part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Damage to Property, Storehouse Ct., and complainant stated sometime during the night an unknown person(s) damaged her vehicle.  The damaged included her taillights and dents in the driver’s side door and rear quarter panel. Report taken.
  • Theft, Perry St., complainant reported a male subject on Perry St. took her female dog and puppies that were born last night.  Made contact with named male subject on Perry St.  who stated he feeds the mother dog since the owner doesn’t feed it.  He stated he saw the puppies and took them home to help keep them alive.  The puppies were found in a crawl space under the home on Perry St. in poor living conditions. Animal control responded and turned the dogs over to the owner along with citations.  Male subject was acting in good faith in an attempt to help the animals.
  • Welfare Check, Walker Dr., female subject made suicidal threats to her husband who is currently incarcerated. He notified jail staff and they relayed the message to Monroe PD.  Contact was made with a female at the location who stated subject went to Snellville to visit a friend at the hospital and she was ok.
  • Welfare Check, West Spring St., anonymous complainant reported two small children alone in a silver Chevrolet Malibu.  Conducted an area check with negative contact.
  • Dispute, E Spring at Grace Baptist, complainant stated he just got out of jail and wanted to get his property from Southview Dr.  Made contact with female subject who stated there are conditions of bond on complainant to not be around her.  She stated she is cleaning the house and getting it ready to sell.  She stated she would put complainant’s things in a pile in the house and he can get them after she leaves.  Complainant agreed and left the scene.  All ok.
  • Entering Auto, Pine Park St & Mears St., and complainant advised he left his car parked at this location on the side of the road due to it breaking down.  Complainant when he returned he found his vehicle damaged along with speakers and the radio missing.
  • Fight Call at North Madison & East Marable St.  Two juveniles thought to be fighting on the side of the road.  Two juvenile males located and both were playing. All ok.
  • Civil Matter, East Spring St., complainant stated her vehicle was at this location and her son was not supposed to have it anymore.  Contact was made with the vehicle at that location but could not locate the driver of the vehicle in room # given.  I attempted to get in touch with the complainant to advise the vehicle was there but she left no contact information.
  • Domestic Disturbance, West 5th St., mother reported her son came home from jail upset about some of his belongings missing.  Stated he became irate and threw a bag. Son was gone when officers arrived.
  • Welfare Check, Highland Creek Dr., female subject hasn’t been heard from in a few days and her nephew was concerned.  Contact was made with female who stated her landline is out of order.  She stated she was fine and will contact her nephew.
  • Civil Matter handled at MPD, South Broad St., female subject upset because Popeye’s stopped giving her free food.  Female subject possibly has medical issues.
  • Fight at Laundry Mat in reference to a black male and a black female fighting.  Negative contact was made and an area check was conducted for the subjects and they were not located.
  • Mental Patient, East Spring St., male subject requested transportation to Ridgeview for a voluntary committal.
  • Disturbing the Peace, East Church St., and complainant advised black males on a green dirt bike driving recklessly in the roadway.  Conducted an area check of the area but all males were gone when officers arrived.
  • Shoplifting, Blaine St – J Beauty Supply in reference to a black male wearing black pants and a white t-shirt.  Male entered the store, and took approximately $180 worth of clothing.  The male left the store and fled the scene on foot toward Edward Street.  An area check was done but officers were not able to locate the subject.
  • Suspicious Person, East Marable, female subject asking people for money.  Subject was advised not to return to the location.  All ok.
  • Suspicious Person, East Fambrough St., complainant advised someone police have been looking for is in the area with a green hat on. Conducted an area check and did not locate anyone matching that description.  Complainant would not give name or any other information concerning the male.
  • Civil Issue handled at MPD, South Broad St., complainant had question concerning a power of attorney.
  • Suspicious Person, East Marable St., Mathews Park.  Male subject trying to fight people at the park.  Made contact with subject, he was upset and intoxicated gave him a ride home on Landers Street due to it not being safe for him to walk home.
  • Welfare Check, Cook St., on female subject and 8 month old baby.  Made contact everything ok with both..
  • Burglary / Suspicious Person, West Fambrough St., complainant requested extra patrol due to neighbor 86 year old female living alone.  Suspects were both black male’s one wearing red shirt and black shorts, black shoes.  The other wearing black shorts and no shirt.
  • Dispute, West Tall Oaks Dr., In reference to two subjects having a verbal argument.  Parties are boyfriend and girlfriend and do not live together.  Girlfriend wanted boyfriend to leave and it took making the phone call to police for him to leave.
  • Threats, East Fambrough – Hillcrest Common.  Caller advised female on location and she wanted to hurt herself.  Female advised she was fine and did not want to hurt herself.
  • Dispute, North Broad St., J and B Food mart.  Two males fighting, they were gone upon arrival.
  • Fight in the area of Baron Dr., reference to a large group appearing to fight.  No group found upon arrival.
  • Suicide Threats, Masters Dr., mother wanted us to speak to her daughter about her threats.  Officer transported her to Ridgeview.
  • Gunshots in the area of Walton Mill Subdivision.  Only one caller calling in.  Spoke to people standing outside and no one heard a gunshot.
  • Suspicious Person, North Broad St., Deer Acres Inn.  Vehicle with GA tag # given parked behind the inn with male subject sleeping in it.
  • Suspicious Person on Walker Dr. and Alcovy St., reference to a white female coming out of the wood line and started walking down the street.  Area was checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious person/vehicle, Alcovy St., Alcovy American Legion. Grey truck with yelling female in the parking lot. All ok, she was out of gas and yelling at her husband for not assisting her.
  • Suspicious vehicle, North Madison Ave. Occupied red SUV. Driver waiting on friend to go to work, all ok.
  • Damage to property, Southview Dr., complainant someone went through property under a tarp in the back yard.
  • Wanted person check, Gatewood Way, check request form Gwinnett County for a male subject. Consent to search residence given, negative contact.
  • Dispute, Tall Oaks East, male resident kicked in his own door. Female upset, report done by request of landlord.
  • Stopping suspicious vehicle/arrest, Highway 138 and the Valero. Michael Vaneenkenvoort was arrested for Poss of meth with intent (5 grams), and suspended tag.
  • Juvenile complaint, South Madison Ave., WCSO. 15-year-old ran away from rehab in Milledgeville, parents refused to come pick her up. WCSO stood by for DFACS.
  • Civil issue, North Broad St. and the old card station. Advised of civil process and referred to Gwinnett County due to incident occurring in Grayson.
  • DFACS assist, Hampton Dr. in regards to 16-year-old female at WCSO requesting to be picked up by parents but parents refused due to juvenile being in juvenile program and did not finish. DFACS wanted officer present to notify parents that juvenile is not in DFACS custody. All ok.
  • Damage to property, Hwy 78, complainant advised someone was digging a hole in his creek behind the residence. Area checked to discover animals were building nest. All ok.
  • Arrest pick-up, Newton County Jail. Gloria Johnson arrested for MPD Failure to Appear warrant, escorted to MPD for fingerprints and then taken to Walton County Jail w/o incident.
  • Suspicious persons, W. Spring St. (Walmart) in regards to Hispanic couple asking for money. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Walker Dr. in regards to complainant stating back passenger vehicle driven by her ex-boyfriend keeps passing by residence. Civil issue in regards to complainant advised by ex that she needs to pick up her vehicle. Advised of civil remedies.
  • Missing person, King St., DFACS called about a missing juvenile. Spoke w/ mother who stated child was not missing and has been communicating w/ her while she stays at a friend’s house. All ok.
  • Damage to property, Walton Truck Stop, complainant stated object came from road possibly flung from another vehicle and damaged her car. Report taken
  • Suspicious persons on E. Marable St., N. Madison Ave in regards to what appeared to be juveniles sitting on front porch of a residence w/ guns. Area checked with negative contact. Witnesses in area advised they have not seen any juveniles w/ guns either.
  • Suspicious vehicle on Hwy 78 EB headed towards Monroe in regards to tractor-trailer w/ trailer doors open. Contact made and all ok, doors were closed and caller thought the wind deflectors were doors.
  • Suspicious vehicle, Walton Truck Stop in regards to dark gray Chevy Impala occupied by W/F and B/M smoking weed w/ infant in vehicle. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Suspicious vehicle Walton Truck Stop. Follow up in regards to previous call about dark gray Chevy Impala. Staff wanted to know what to do next time they see illegal activity. Advised to call police while situation is still taking place.
  • Gunshots heard, Skyline Trace Apts. Anonymous caller advised hearing 6 shots behind apartment complex. Checked all areas including Gov. Housing w/ negative contact.
  • Fight call, Maple Place Townhomes, two B/M fighting in parking lot, 1 B/M tased. Males identified one male and Ashante Davis. Neither party wanted to press charges, Ashante arrested for Obstruction.
  • Suspicious vehicle E. Church St. and S. Broad St. in regards to maroon Ford Mustang w/ driver possibly intoxicated. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Welfare check, Walton Truck Stop in regards to K&B truck hauling refrigerated trailer and have not heard from driver since yesterday. Contact made @ Walmart DC. Driver aware K&B trying to reach him but driver did not want to talk to boss. Driver was ok.
  • Burglary, E. Church St., complainant stated her 42’’ flat screen was stolen from her house while male subject was on location sleeping. No serial number provided, report taken.
  • Damage to property 1 Bulldog Dr., George Walton Academy. Graffiti and profanity spray painted on a storage building and a school bus.
  • Dispute, West Vine St. Conestoga MHP, complainant allowed female subject to spend the night and she was refusing to leave, subject sent on her way.
  • Dispute, West Spring St., Haven Inn.  Dispute between staff and guest over smoking in nonsmoking room, customer paid for room and went on their way.
  • Disturbing the peace in the area of Norris and Broad. Ref to fireworks going off since 0600 this morning. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Trespassing, Union St. Anno caller advised and unknown subject was at this location that was barred from housing.  No name or description given, unable to verify bar notice, all ok.
  • Burglary, East Spring St., Walton Storage, complainant reports storage unit entered, fishing poles, misc jewelry, and jewelry making tools missing.
  • Suspicious person, North Broad St., Bo’ jangles, female subject on location sent on her way, all ok..
  • Damage to property, South Broad St. Monroe Art Guild, complainant reports a Garden sculpture missing a toe.
  • Burglary report, East Spring St., Walton Security Storage, complainant reports several items missing from storage unit.
  • 911 Hang up, Blaine St., J-Beauty supply. Cedric Cladwell arrested for $100.00 worth of clothing.
  • Suspicious person, East Washington St., Athens First Bank. Comp advised of b/f on bike asking for money. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Burglary report, East Spring St., Walton Security Storage. Comp advised storage unit belonged to her brother and she was u sure what was missing, declined report till he arrived.
  • Suspicious person, West Spring St., Waffle House, female subject wanting to speak to supervisor. Subject has medical issues and advised she wanted to hold her story for the FBI, all ok.
  • Suspicious person, Tractor Supply in regards to W/F and W/M (young couple) who were possibly arguing. Anonymous caller followed couple to Walmart. Area checked with negative contact. Caller advised nothing physical ever happened, only verbal.
  • Dispute, Haven Inn in regards to W/M w/ one arm loitering on property after being told he can’t. Contact made w/ subject who was served w/ Criminal Trespass warning and banned indefinitely.
  • Theft, GW Carver, in regards to complainant advising sometime last night, unknown suspect stole the “Nissan” emblem off the front of her vehicle. Report taken.
  • Suspicious vehicle/persons, S. Broad St. (Chevron) in regards black Ford Explorer occupied multiple times and occupants kept getting in and out of vehicle. Contact made w/ vehicle and occupants and vehicle searched for 38-D w/ negative findings. Incident documented due to male subject stating he used meth about 4 days prior.
  • Dispute, Pine Park St., in regards to male and female subjects in argument over a soda. Report taken, no signs of violence.
  • Harassment, W. Spring St. (Huddle House) complainant advised he has been having issues w/ female subject and subject has been harassing him all day. Complainant advised of TPO process.
  • Damage to property report taken at W. Spring St. (Motivate Martial Arts) in regards to building next door flooding and water is running into Motivate Martial Arts building causing damage. Complainant advised of civil remedies and report taken. Owner was contacted and crew arrived on scene to see if they could divert water to prevent further damage.
  • Theft, W. Highland Ave. No actual theft, 3rd party caller advised his neighbor’s bench was taken by a man driving a yellow Penske truck. Neighbor stated the bench was next to road and he put it there so it could be picked up. All ok.
  • Suspicious person, 4th St. in regards to unknown subject wearing hoodie near residence and when complainant was seen by subject, they ran off. Area checked with negative contact.
  • Dispute, Walton Rd., mother advised her and her son had verbal dispute and he took phone from her while she was on phone w/ 911. Made contact w/ Dimaron Jones (son) and he did advise he took phone from mother while she was on call w/ 911. Jones arrested for interfering w/ 911 call.
  • Possible burglary, Davis St. (Rivers of Mercy Church) All ok, 3rd party caller saw light on upstairs. Spoke w/ key holder and he advised he left the light on. All doors and windows secure.
  • Wanted/Stolen, check on firearm that Forsyth was out with. Firearm confirmed stolen and recovered per case number. Det. was notified by email and supplemental narrative added to report.
  • Suspicious Activity, Vine St., Conestoga MHP. In reference to female subject saying that male subject asked her to stab him.  Spoke to male subject and he was ok and never said anything to indicate he wanted to be stabbed.  Everyone was ok on location.
  • Shoplifting, West Spring St., Walmart in reference to four juveniles shoplifting $47 dollars’ worth of alcohol.  All four will be charged and turned over to their parents.
