The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period Dec. 31, 2020 to Jan. 7, 2021. Due to the length, this report has been split into six parts. This is the third part. Please note an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.
Traffic stop – East Spring St. and Taylor’s – subject stopped for window. A pat down of the driver revealed that he had a quantity of Heroin along with narcotic paraphernalia in his pockets. The driver was subsequently arrested.
Dispute – Custom Way In reference to the complainant’s 16-year-old daughter who took the complainant’s vehicle. Complainant advised that their daughter has been grounded and the complainant was asleep when the vehicle was taken. Complainant advised that she did not want to press charges against her daughter, but just wanted her vehicle back. Report taken.
Entering Auto – E Church St. In reference to the complainant advising that sometime this date a pistol was taken from their vehicle. Complainant advised that they located their firearm underneath their vehicle. Complainant advised that it was dropped due to moving into their new residence throughout the day. All ok.
Dispute – W Creek Cir. In reference to the complaint’s 20-year-old granddaughter on location causing a disturbance. Verbal altercation over a pie. Complainant advised that subject is on house arrest at their residence, but did not want her to stay there any longer. Parties were separated without incident. Remedies were advised.
Suspicious Person -Magnolia Ter. Anonymous caller stated that the suspect from the murder was walking between units 17-20. Officers approached on foot and had negative contact with anyone. Dispatch was unable to gather any other information. Email sent to CID for informational purposes.
Traffic stop – HWY 78E and Unisia Dr.- Vehicle stopped due to driver not having a seatbelt on. Probable cause search was conducted after an odor of marijuana was detected. Driver arrested for possession marijuana and Felony THC oil possession.
Agency Assist – HWY 78W and Mt. Vernon Rd. GSP out with vehicle where 3 B/M’s fled on foot. GSP requested a dog. Subjects apprehended, all ok.
Suspicious Vehicle – E Marable St. Mathews Park. Subjects were advised of park hours, all ok.
Suspicious Vehicle – S Madison Ave. Felker Park. Subjects were advised that the park was closed. They left without incident.
Dispute – Tall Oaks E. In reference to the complainant advising that a subject put a pistol to the complainant’s head after a dispute. Complainant advised that he left on foot. Complainant advised that she did not want to press charges against subject. A follow up was conducted at Davis St, due to subject having an active felony warrant. Contact was made with the homeowner but negative contact with subject at the residence. The homeowner was placed under arrest for an active warrant for FTA out of Jackson County and transported to the Walton County Jail. Report taken.
